Spooky Brook Golf Course in Somerset is a player-friendly course that is perfect for beginners. It offers just enough of a challenge but it still allows you some room for error. At 6,655 yards from the back tees, the golf course is relatively short but the greens, tees, and fairways offer plenty of room. The mostly flat terrain makes for an enjoyable walk and it's also wide open. While the golf course may not be the most formidable test, it does have a few challenges in store. Water has a presence throughout the course, especially on the back nine. Whether or not you are looking to hone your skills or if you want a casual round, the well maintained golf course appeals to any skill level. In addition to the course, Spooky Brook G.C. also has a driving range that you can use to warm-up.

Basically a bomber’s course. Except for a couple of holes, holes are long and fairways are wide open. If you’re a long hitter, you can spray it in either direction and still score well.

Course was in great shape and greens were very fast for this time of year

CHIPPING IS ALLOWED on practice green
Kind of annoying that the range was closed for new mats
Guy in the proshop said it would be closed for a few days
I could of replaced those mats in an hour
But for $26 cart included it was a steal
BUT…. The pace was terrible, and there is no ranger pushing play
I’ll give it one more chance before I shun this course
Still in great shape
Greens were frozen, but otherwise course was in great shape for November 29. Leaves were only a problem on two greens.
If you haven't played here, the course is wide open. Hard to find trouble outside of a couple of short doglegs.

For probably the last 70 degree day for 2021 the pace of play was exceptional. Did not get in all 18, but the hotdeal was for 1:50, and I did not expect to get all 18 in. Sunny, low wind and great conditions! Had a good round too!

Beware The Mask Police
I walked into the club house without a mask. It’s a decent size room. And the man, behind plexiglass m, told me he “couldn’t serve me” unless I wear a mask.
I said “that’s ok no thanks” and told him my name and tee time and held out my credit card for payment. He then insisted to place a mask in my hand.
Listen, I’m trying to be in and out and give you my credit card. I don’t have a mask. We are two men inside of a large building, well more than 6 feet apart. Let me be on my way. You’re behind a glass. Stop the mask police charade. I’m going to play a round of golf, walk, and get some fresh air.
At the end of the day, I put it on because I didn’t want him to “refuse me entry” for not wearing a mask (and I didn’t want to be kicked out and charged $54).
At the turn, I went in to use the vending machine. Different guy behind the glass this time. I did the “right thing” and wore the mask, but the entire time this guy was watching me like a hawk. He didn’t even say a thing. Dude I’m just buying a few things. At least say hi. Not too personable staff inside. Outside guys were cool & the Starter was cool. He let me go ahead and join a threesome because I got there early. Played one of my better rounds of the year with nice people.
At the EOD, course is nice shape. Staff could use help with Mask thing. It’s America. Let’s use common sense and allow healthy people to get back to their lives. Also, don’t make it uncomfortable for your customers.
First Visit
Pace of play was fine til the 17th tee, where there were at 1 point 3 groups waiting. I enjoy Somerset County golf courses, but this was not as nice as the others. Greens bumpy, still recovering from aeration. Enjoyed the fall colors though, very nice.
Very nice conditions.
We had a 14:30 tee time and just made it back before dark. Course is in great shape. Very good day.
