About
Spooky Brook Golf Course in Somerset is a player-friendly course that is perfect for beginners. It offers just enough of a challenge but it still allows you some room for error. At 6,655 yards from the back tees, the golf course is relatively short but the greens, tees, and fairways offer plenty of room. The mostly flat terrain makes for an enjoyable walk and it's also wide open. While the golf course may not be the most formidable test, it does have a few challenges in store. Water has a presence throughout the course, especially on the back nine. Whether or not you are looking to hone your skills or if you want a casual round, the well maintained golf course appeals to any skill level. In addition to the course, Spooky Brook G.C. also has a driving range that you can use to warm-up.

A fun time but Spooky is not too spooky
I know it was just a name but I was expecting some crazy holes. Although some holes seemed longer than the scorecard dictated, it was a relatively straightforward course. Nontheless, it was a nice course and a good confidence builder for the long hitter.
Great Easy Course
Great course, mostly flat and accommodating fairways with wide roughs and not much fescue to lose balls into. Greens roll very true when they're not healing from aerations and can be challenging depending on where the holes are cut.
A backyard
Like a yard - generally poor design. Greens has been aerated - and easily the worst aerated greens I have played in. The course in general felt like a backyard - a couple of holes like the 17th and another par 3 were nice - but apart from that - course wasn't pretty .. definitely not going again.
Wide Open
Very nice course, wide open, not a lot of trees. Ground seemed really hard though. high shots hitting the green did not leave a ball mark so the ball would roll a lot further than normal. Could be lack of rain recently. Greens are fast, I would definitely play here again!
I just like this course!
There are some tracks you just take a shine too. For whatever reason, that's Spooky Brook. It's open and wide, and just a whole lot of fun.
Great for the novice, and some tiered greens and longish Par 4s that will test the low handicapper. Staff is accomodating and friendly. Pace of play has been absolutely stellar the last two rounds (I should probably tell you all the exact opposite, so I can keep playing my sub-four rounds).
OK, my only pidding suggestion -- make drinking water more available.
Beyond that, this is a great little treat of a course.
Good course, very good shape and not a lot of lost balls.
This is a nice course that has challenges but is friendly to a new golfer. The front 9 is very open so you can build some confidence and most of the back 9 is as well with a few holes that will challenge players that have trouble staying straight off the tee but even those aren't brutal just a nice challenge. I have been there twice in the past month and both times had no issue with pace of play or the employees (much friendlier than some reviews I have seen).
The course is wide open and forgiving.
Wide open fairways are great for us since we're not down the middle every tee shoot. The rough wasn't to bad, you were able to find your ball in it, which speeds up the round. The course is fairly flat so you could definitely walk it if you wanted to. It's a great course!
Nice Course - Super Slow
Nice county course. Good bargain but we waited on every shot for over 5 hours. Played in a threesome and then a foursome. Way too slow. No marshalls. Need to space groups better and encourage slow golfers to pick up pace or pick up their ball. Play it forward. While were young!
Very good course
The course is cool. For the most part its wide open. Had a good score there. The starter takes his job way to seriously and is a pain in the you know what!
Super friendly staff and great practice
Conditions: Overall - 8
Fairways - 9
Greens - 8 (slow but roll true)
Bunkers - 7
Rough -9 (might be a little bit high in spots and make it hard to find your ball but it's wide open - few places to lose balls)
The staff is super friendly and the course is wide open. Great place to work on the swing and practice putting. You can definitely score low here and promotes grippin and rippin off the tee.
golfnow deals are a great value
I traditionally play this course every month or so on Saturday or Sunday mornings with my regular foursome. It usually costs $54 to walk for out of county on the weekend
With the golfnow deal, I was able to book an early Saturday afternoon tee time with cart for $29.
The value and how open the course was allowed me to do something I wouldnt normally do and that is to bring along my 10 year old son and further introduce him to the game.
We had a fantastic time .
Thanks Golfnow - Your discount tee-times are helping to the grow the game. Please keep working to add more discounts.
Course in good condition
Had a great time, really enjoyed playing in very good conditions. Will play again.
Golfer friendly course
Spooky is "golfer friendly" with wide fairways and greens that are in "country club" condition. An 18 hole round played after 2 resulted in a 3 hr. 15 min. round for our 2-some, where a 4-some and 3-some cordially let us play through. Playing at Spooky helps boost confidence in your game.
For the most part the course gives you a lot of room for mistakes
Course was in very good shape and would like to play it again.
This course is not very challenging
Almost all the holes are straight out with wide open fairways and not very exciting to play. There are a few holes where you can't see the pin from the tee box so a scorecard with the hole layouts would be helpful for first-time play.
