Quail Brook Golf Course
About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Good course, Bad people
The course itself was nice and well maintained.
It was raining when we arrived at the course, but it was still playable.
Starting from the 4th hole, it began pouring down, and we couldn’t even finish the 6th hole, and we had to return to the clubhouse.
I asked the front, "Do you guys release rain checks?"
The old tall white guy with grey hair said, "NO."
I said, "Okay.", to be honest, it didn’t bother me, and I tried to leave.
At that moment, he suddenly said, "YOU drove here to play, right?"
It was like he was saying, 'It's your fault for coming here. You should have predicted the weather,' and he was putting the blame on me.
I wondered why he had to say that to someone who was already leaving with an "okay."
His words were very aggressive, and it made me feel being offended.
He added unnecessary comments, and he could have spoken much more gently.
'Sorry, we don't,' would have been enough.
Of course, it was disappointing that we couldn't finish the game, but I was still in a good mood, but then the guy's attitude ruined everything.
It’s been 10 hours since I left the clubhouse, and I still feel a bit depressed.
Fun layout
Not a very long course scoring opportunities all around … great pace and hot dogs to call in while teeing off on 9 was amazing. Will be back !
Good course. In good shape and challenging. Downside is no cart and no clubhouse or food. They had food truck in parking lot but only sold hotdogs and snacks.
Rakes in bunkers
Staff check in was slow and disappointing
Course was in good shape but rakes left in bunkers and unraked
Green full of divots
Unrespectful golers ruin the round
Great course in need of a marshal
We traveled to play here for only the second time, and it was even nicer than we remembered. The course is very fair, but not without its challenges, and the conditions were very good for late August. We enjoyed going off as a twosome, until quickly encountering a very slow foursome ahead of us. Despite being well behind any gofers in front of them, we were not able to play through, thereby requiring patience waiting to hit from the first hole until the last. Still, I would not hesitate to return or recommend the course to others.
Rider Fee Snafu
Checked multiple Golf Courses just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind....charging full price for a 7 year old that is not playing is a joke! Rider Fees are acceptable, but to charge full price is flat out taking advantage! I have been playing Golf for decade, so I know what is standard across the board! Never, I mean never have I been so insulted and embarrassed in front of my 7 year old. She was dress appropriately, she wasn't going to take a single shot on the course, and you would have made up that difference at the consession stand with me buying overpriced candy/soda/food! You guys took my prepaid Green Fees and basically said "F" off we have our money! You guys are a joke ! No I would not recommend this course due to there unwillingness to meet industry standards regarding Rider Fees! How are you going to make golf welcoming to the kids if you show your unwillingness to welcome them!
Unrealistic
I have been golfing for years and I always bring my daughter who is 7. I always pay companion fee of maybe 15/25. They wanted to charge me full price. Unrealistic!
Very Nice Course!
Walked 18 with two friends starting on-time at 2:40. Course conditions were excellent! Pace of play was very good. Tee boxes and greens were in very nice shape. No food/drink cart on course. Wouldn't walk 18 again (too much distance between holes. Will definitely play here again...with a cart.
NICE COURSE
NICE COURSE BUT NO CART PERSON FOR BEVERAGES AND NO DRINKING WATER ON COURSE THAT WAS VERY DISSAPOINTING
