Course is beat up
I've had peers play this course in the past and always gave it some great reviews. However, after playing myself, I was extremely disappointed in the conditions. Many of the greens were unplayable with huge dead spots. I would describe the quality of some of the greens are under repair, and the course should really be advertised as such.
The course layout is woven nicely through the area, and it is just a shame the course isn't in the shape it should be. There's some cool bridges to drive over and some nice views, but the course conditions didn't leave much to be desired.
Weather has taken a toll on some of the fairways and a few of the greens were unplayable
Nice course that I’ve played before and will play again
Green in poor shape
I really like playing Deerwood but the Greens and bunkers were in terrible shape. The greens were brown and not maintained. The holes were messed up. It is a fun course to play but this time it was not maintained well. Very sad, since it has been a very nice course.
The weather has taken a toll on the course
Some greens in pretty bad shape and a few shaky spots on the fairways. Still a nice course with a decent mix of holes
Not so good. Played this course a long time ago and the conditions were always very good. Not sure what happened to this place. Faiways were very good
Tee boxes were not in good shape. Two greens were totally unputtable. Many greens were not in good shape. The greens that had grass were true. Sorry for the bad review, but the course is not good. I did talk to one of the green keepers who was punching one of the really bad greens, and he really wants to get the course back to where it was years ago.
Worst golf course of all tome
I’ve never played a golf course that was in worse shape in my entire life. They couldn’t pay me to come back
Terrible condition
The course was in terrible condition. There were animal holes and standing water on the greens. I understand it used to be a really nice course, but it was not what I experienced.
Gone down hill
This course used to be a premier course in the area but is now one of the worst. Tee boxes are mainly dirt. Greens have black spots all over. Good layout but most backyards are better kept.
Not bad….
Haven’t played the house in at least 5 years. According to my playing partners who I just met the course has gone through many changes.
Front nine was in very good shape. Tee boxes were fair. Greens were true. Bunkers were not consistent. Some very firm, enough to use a putter to get out. (Which didn’t work)
Back nine different story. 10 - 14 greens were beat up. Not sure if there was a disease or something. 15-18 were in good shape.
Front nine open. Back nine weaving in and out of woods. Front nine very walkable. Back nine you need a cart.
Price a bit high but it was a nice change of scenery.
Springfield 2.0 iykyk
This place is wayyy over priced $45-$50 should be max price. Every green is a different speed absolutely no consistency then the last 3 holes they make roll semi decent to try n get it in your head that its nice well the first 15 holes the greens were atrocious so it was a mute point by then. Bunkers are growing grass the fairways are junk. One guy was out there busting his but trying to get things done and make it look nice but seems he is not given the proper man power or tools to get things completely up to par. Definitely not worth a dollar over $55. Has potential just needs new ownership someone who cares and will invest in it!
Greens aren't great!
Staff was super friendly!! Course was okay. We saw the cart girl 3 times in the first 6 holes but not after that...there's no halfway house, you don't pass the pro shop and it was HOT!! Greens have a lot of disease and there were twin sand "holes" (almost gopher like holes) in the middle of one of the greens. Fairways are well maintained.
Making a Comeback
For years this course was always in great shape - issues with irrigation set it back for about 3-years. They hired a new superintendent this year who has worked wonders. They also replaced the retired Pro with someone who grew up on the course putting a new found energy into the pro shop. New restaurant/beverage manager has also done an excellent job. A definite must play in the South Jersey area.

What a sin. It used to be an outstanding course. (10 years ago)
