Excellent University course
My winter round at NMSU was excellent. The dormant bermuda provided good lies. The greens were in good shape. I understand they are planning major changes to the course in the near future with development of commercial property on 6 holes and building and re-routing 6 new holes. This is an excellent value and excellent option for winter golf. Easy to walk.
Snooty Staff
The staff at NMSU continues to give me reasons NOT to play here. We arrived on time for our tee time and were told we could start on #1. We proceed to the #1 tee box and found there were no scare cards on the cart or in the box used to store them. We returned to the club house to get a card and pencil only to be told by another starter..a RUDE man, that we are going to start on #10! I told him we were already at #1 and came back because no one put scare cards anywhere to be found! Now we look over to #10 and there is a log jam starting in front of us. Plus he put a walker in our group which slowed things up even more. PLUS, we had to play in the sprinklers for the first 3 holes since the grounds keeper would not turn them off as we came through! Play here with patience...you'll be tested by the rude employees. The positive take away is that they always have cute and very friendly beverage cart girls at NMSU! Try to hold your tongue when it comes to the over-baring staff.
Awesome fairways and consistent greens.
I enjoy playing at NMSU golf course. It's challenging and fun. The greens are no freebies, got to read your line.
Great Course
Everything was in great shape. Greens were rolling nice. Raised cups only downfall. Staff was great. Cart girl was great.
Great place to play
Amazing course! Only thing I would say is to have better signs to put you in the right hole. Started in #10 and didn’t even know it untill 4 because they were the same par. Other than not knowing the right hole we are on it was great. Also, the current signs holds are sun faded so you can’t tell which hole your on.
NMSU finally opened again
NMSU was closed for approximately 2 months but was maintained in good condition. Other than the styrofoam inserts in the putting cups everything went well. Don’t know if those styrofoam inserts helped or hindered my score.
Solid Track
Tee to green is in good shape as the grass is growing in well from the time off for Covid. Greens are rolling very well. Worth the money for sure.
Awesome course.
NMSU offers a challenging course. Plenty of trees to keep you honest off the team. Will definitely play this course again.
