Good Deal
The fairway grass is bermuda, and it's dormant so you have to take extra care to not scald the ball. Some of the rough is long dormant bermuda, and hitting against the grain is challenging. All in all a great course.
these course has a nice layoutI
I have played this course for many years, like the layout of the course. the staff I have known through the years have been great since coach HERB and PAUL.
Winter Golf NMSU
Definitely need to use the optic yellow balls for the dormant bermuda. Some of the approaches to the greens were difficult due to grass that went dormant before getting cut. The ball rolls 30 yards further than normal, "Winter Roll". Excellent day for golf.
Great
Great Golf Course with a great staff and wonderful course condition
Awesome course
Winter course, greens were in very good shape, fairways are well taken care of, cart girl was great and came around often
This is a great course!
Play here about one a week. Always have a great time. Friendly staff and players alike. Course is well maintained. Highly recommended.
Fall Golf
The fairways are starting to brown up which makes the ball roll further. The bermuda approach is hard as a rock, making lobs difficult. Leaves on the ruff make it hard to find white balls, time to switch to florescent colors.
Go Aggies!
Beautiful layout. Fantastic scenery. Greens were recently airated and it made putting very difficult. Other than that the course was in excellent condition
.
Great desert course
Course is nice greens should be back up in a couple weeks play was a little slow but it was Sunday.
Great course
This is a great course, one of the best in this area, the price is great, the staff are very friendly and the course are in great shape, out of the three courses in this area this course is #1 on my list.
Good value Friendy staff, good conditions
We had not played NMSU for a few years and was not disappointed upon our return to sunshine, blue skies and low humidity.
We experienced good conditions, friendly staff, cordial players with a good price to boot!
We will return for another round.
First Time There
It was our first time there and we liked it a lot. The weather probably had something to do too, it was perfect, no wind, cloudy, and around 80.
Awesome Course
I've played NMSU a few times a year for the last 3 years, this year I've played it a lot more due to GolfNow making it so easy to schedule a tee time. The course is awesome, greens are great, fairways are like carpet and the trees and rough will definitely punish you but are still good to play with a good lie. I definitely recommend NMSU! One of my top 10 New Mexico courses to play.
Great Course
I love this course. I play it all the time. Sundown rates are great and pace of play is fast enough I can finish 18 holes before it gets dark. The course is almost always in great condition, only problem is there are always groundskeepers on the course. Last time I played greens were a little slow but the course was in great shape.
