The fourth is a narrow driving hole that ends on this well-guarded green. Only 310 yards, this is the #5 index. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
7th, par-4, 331: A typical Tillinghast green is of moderate size–like this one. A moderately difficult hole, but a good one. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
The eighth is a par-4 of average difficulty, but missed shots still lead to trouble. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
Ten, the #1 index, plays uphill over its 409 yards to a relatively small green. The large falloff behind this green can bring about short-game woes. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025

11th, par-4, 402: On this layout, Tillinghast’s holes retain their genuine parkland character, along with a classic aura not far afield from his famous courses. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
The sixteenth: Ron Cultip set this excellent par-5 in an open area, making this 498-yarder a tempting opportunity for big hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
2nd: Par-4, 393. First of three holes on the difficult “Cat’s Claw.” The green can’t be seen from the fairway’s landing zone. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
3rd, par-4: Another tricky Tillinghast hole. The Cape design features this marshy hazard curving all the way from tee to green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
5th, par-5. The driving zone is relatively open, but your second may cross the stream and must be precise. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
16, par-5, 498. Terrific hole that encourages you to slam a driver and another long club on the second. Hittable in two, for some. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
18, par-5, 570. On the second shot, the fairway’s safe side is the right, which better opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021

Another view of 18. As classic as the Tillinghast holes on the front side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021

New Tees Coming In Great! Photo submitted by Golfguyswf on 08/15/2018
Nice Track
Nice course and layout with challenging holes from the back tees.
Shorter tees for the novice player. Great value for the money $35 on the weekends for 18 holes.
only a one star course
the greens and fairways in bad condition. staff friendly but i came to play golf. greens looked like theywere not cut for a week. wont come back. might be good for beginners who dont knopw what greens should look like
Fun golfing experience!
New ownership has weathered the storms (literally) and course is in excellent condition. Fairways in great shape and greens putt smooth and true. Cartpaths could use some upgrading, but didn't detract from overall experience.
Played Trump National Hudson Valley a few days before, and The Lynx compares favorably with that "status" course.
Fair and challenging layout for all levels. Friendly staff and beautiful view of 18th hole from relaxed atmosphere of restaurant and bar.
What a diffrence a year makes
Been playing this course since new owners took over in 2011. That year it rained what seemed like every day and flooded three times which made last years conditions, for lack of a better word "rough". With that said this year is an entirely different story. I cannot believe what has transipired in a half of year and each time I play this year it seems to get better. The Greens and Approaches have filled in and the healthiest i have seen. While the Greens are still a little slower than i would like, the get faster each week. The design is really cool with maybe some of the best holes I have ever played like #3, #4 and of course #18 is an incredible finishing hole. If you played last year and were dissapointed come back and try again!
Has Come A Long Way...
I read a few poor reviews on this site, and I am here to correct them. This course was all but wiped out two years ago during the flood. It is now in good shape. Fairways are very nice, greens have improved greatly..The roughs are tough. Very thick, high grass. Hole 12 is a 155 yard par 3. It's straight ahead, but the green is the smallest green I've ever seen- not to mention it's protected by two bunkers. The 18th is a 600yd par 5, and is probably the most beautiful hole on the course. Very tricky but fun hole. Overall, a moderately-challenging course. Carts come with GPS that works relatively well. Pace of play is decent. This course was designed by A.W. Tillinghast in the early 1900s. I play at the Lynx many times per month. Definitely worth the money. The restaurant and bar has been renovated recently, and is very nice. I hear the food is good as well. Many golf and dinner specials on their website.
New Greens are Beautiful
This course has made great strides since last year. They were ravaged by flooding. The greens are now healthy and fast. The fairways are lush with the rough thick and challenging. You will be penalized in the rough. Great value for the dollar, golf and dine special, nice restaurant, great staff! Great Tillinghast design with many subtle breaks on the greens, don't go over the greens!
Interesting layout, used to be Port Jervis CC, so it has nice amenities.
I look forward to playing the course again. The restaurant was also very nice and had good food. I liked the layout and the views were great!
So poor
The course is in aweful shape and a layout that has you guessing where the next hole is. Nothing redeeming here. One of the 10 worst I have ever played.
Very poor condition greens and lots of crab grass.
They should pay me to play here. Flyers fron the fairway.
