The fourth is a narrow driving hole that ends on this well-guarded green. Only 310 yards, this is the #5 index. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
7th, par-4, 331: A typical Tillinghast green is of moderate size–like this one. A moderately difficult hole, but a good one. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
The eighth is a par-4 of average difficulty, but missed shots still lead to trouble. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
Ten, the #1 index, plays uphill over its 409 yards to a relatively small green. The large falloff behind this green can bring about short-game woes. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
11th, par-4, 402: On this layout, Tillinghast’s holes retain their genuine parkland character, along with a classic aura not far afield from his famous courses. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
The sixteenth: Ron Cultip set this excellent par-5 in an open area, making this 498-yarder a tempting opportunity for big hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/24/2025
-
2nd: Par-4, 393. First of three holes on the difficult “Cat’s Claw.” The green can’t be seen from the fairway’s landing zone. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
3rd, par-4: Another tricky Tillinghast hole. The Cape design features this marshy hazard curving all the way from tee to green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
5th, par-5. The driving zone is relatively open, but your second may cross the stream and must be precise. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
16, par-5, 498. Terrific hole that encourages you to slam a driver and another long club on the second. Hittable in two, for some. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021
-
18, par-5, 570. On the second shot, the fairway’s safe side is the right, which better opens up the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021

Another view of 18. As classic as the Tillinghast holes on the front side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/08/2021

New Tees Coming In Great! Photo submitted by Golfguyswf on 08/15/2018
Getting better all the time
Wrote a review after my first visit here in August. I'm hooked. Great layout with far better than average conditions. Greens were aerated about 12 days ago and three days later, you could barely tell. I've never seen greens come back in such great shape so quickly. Charlie in the pro shop is the employee I'd wantto have run my course if I were fortunate enough to own one. Changing this to my home course next year for USGA handicapping. Make the trip, it's well worth it. And check out their VIP membership offer.
Very challenging
Enjoyed the course. Layout is a little confusing the first time around. The staff was very friendly .Enjoyed the day
Well worth the trip
Traveled about 3/4 hour and will definitely play again. The course was perfect for the average golfer. The course was interesting and in good condition. Fairways were cut well and the greens were true and in great condition. Greens a bit slow and it took a couple of holes to adjust. Thoroughly enjoyed the round. Very minor negatives were cart paths and a couple of holes on the back nine were a bit difficult to find first time around.
Very Nice Course
My partner & I really enjoyed our round. The course is in really nice shape from the tee boxes; fairways to greens. Highly recommend the track. Only complaint was there is no water to be found. Other then that we had a great time.
Beautiful old course
Course was in good shape, fairways cut low and greens were true. Tee boxes were not very clean and we had a little confusion finding tee boxes on a couple of holes, but overall a very pleasant round,.
Worth the Drive
Very scenic, maintained well with good greens. Worth the drive. Very good prices for food and drink.
Diamond in the roughh
Very nice layout..but the holes are a bit confusing
A Great Find
Bought a summer home in the Poconos and traveled the 20 miles to this course. Very friendly proshop staff. Explained the layout to me while I paid the fee. This course is a 10-15 handicapper's dream. You can be slightly off, but still save par. There's enough trouble, however, to keep you on your game. A real gem of a find.
Needs some attention
This course looks like it could be a nice course but is not very well maintained. The fairways where almost as thick as the rough. Not sure why they don't mow more often.
Great layout! Improving the course everyday! Poor pace of play.
We played this course twice during our visit to the area. The layout is great with both narrow and wide open holes. Challenging course with high risk high reward holes. We played Sunday, July 30 and Friday, August 4. The amount of trees and bushes planted in a 5 day period was astoundishing. The design and shape of the course gets better each day. The greens and fairways are in great condition! The only negative is pace of play. No ranger on the course and we were behind a five some! We had to skip a few holes to get in front of them since they wouldn't let us play through. Our second time out we had to do the same thing with two very very slow four somes in front of us. If we waited behind them, we were looking at a 6+ hour round. Overall, friendly staff, great price, and excellent course! Hire a ranger and it would be a 5 star!
fun to play
Course was in good shape and it was kind of fun trying to figure out where the next hole was. Signage was good though.
This Course has been through it all and still....great
I have been playing this course since it was a private course over 6 years ago, now. Not only has the condition improved 100%, but the friendliness and feeling of 'everyone belongs here' is so much better. It isn't the easiest course, though I am not the best player. But no one makes you feel inferior here. Practice proper golf etiquette and there is no complaints. Most recently I played on a busy saturday, there was a bit of a wait to start, but that is to be expected on a Saturday morning and we had fun once we got going. After reading some of the negative comments I had to write a review even though I usually don't because these guys have been through the ringer. They have come back from 3 huge storms in 3 years and the just fact that they were able to recover at all after Sandy is a feat in and of itself. Ill give credit where credit is due. Keep it up guys! Ill keep coming back.
Surprisingly lovely course
The perfect weather certainly added to the day but the course was beautiful and in terrific shape. The water lilies were straight out of Monet and the greens were perfect. Very charming young woman checked us in and, aside from some minor confusion caused by "playing from the whites" which won't correspond to this course's tee scheme, it was a lovely day. I am not used to playing weekends and thus recoiled at the $50 price tag but I'm told that that's the going weekend green fee.
What a great course
The course has gone under major rehab. The greens are one of the best around. Fairways in great shape and so are the bunkers with new white sand.
I hear they are introducing a Kentucky Blue grass seed for the fairways as part of the rehab process. Very friendly staff. A pleasure to play this Tillinghast original.
Great Course
I was in town on a business trip this past week and decided to sneak away to this course one afternoon. It was perfectly manicured and not crowded at all. The course layout was a little confusing but well placed signage helped alleviate most of the confusion. The only real (and incredibly minor) complaint I have is the use of non standard tee box labels / colors.
Some of the best Greens
I am not quite sure how they got their Greens turned around but they are truly some of the best around. They feel really soft which is great because they accept the ball nice but the amazing thing is how true they putt. There is a lot of buzz about additional rehab being done on Tee Boxes and Fairways and all I can say is if they do with those what they did with Greens then this is my new favorite golf course...Layout has always been great, not too hard but you still have to make shots with smaller greens. All in all I am excited to see the improvements here and keep up the great works Lynx!
The Lynx At Riverbend
Played last year when the course was in poor shape.
What a difference this year . Greens are great and rolling true. Bunkers are edged with new white sand.
Fairways and approaches cut nice and shots hold the green. Major improvement.
Major Improvements
Wow! i was very happy with the condition of this course, greens have been revamped and in great shape, lush fairways, and staff was redoing bunkers as well as some tee boxes. Major improvements from last year and nice to see all the work they have put into renovations so far.. A very nice course and reasonably priced. Well worth playing.
What difference
What a difference a year makes. Course was in so so shape last year 2014. It's in the best shape I have seen in three years. Greens and Fairways are excellent except for hole three green but I am confident that one will comeback too. Friendly staff and the food in the clubhouse is very good. Green fee for 18 holes when I played $31.
Better then a 9 Hole Course
The management offers some of the cheapest rack rates for an 18 hole course around. You also get a GPS equipped cart. Monday 18 holes, cart, and lunch cant be beat. Not the worst course conditions I have seen, but the course could use some TLC. Weeds in some bunkers, weeds overgrown in the fairways, and the 3rd green has been destroyed all season. The management is smart to make sure the price is right for the conditions. The pace of play is usually quite reasonable too.

Dear Golfer, thank you for your feedback. It seems like you played the course right in the middle of a major turf renovation project that was being done this season. We have spent over $50,000 introducing a new hybrid turf to the fairways and we were not mowing as much as normal to avoid stress on the new turf. We hope if you return you will find conditions that would better match or possibly exceed your expectation. Sincerely, Team Lynx
