The Swan Golf & Country Club
About
Located just 5 minutes off of the New York State Thruway in Saugerties, The Swan Golf & Country Club (formerly known as The Lazy Swan Golf Course) is a championship 18-hole course designed by Golf Architect Barry Jordan. The course has been exquisitely crafted as “a series of linked passages of natural beauty” with each hole presenting its own unique character and challenges for players to overcome. Players will encounter several cascading and reflection ponds, rock outcroppings, dramatic elevation changes, an alpine garden, and beautiful views of the Catskill Mountains.

great mix of challenging and easy holes
Distance from whites aren't very log.. But there are plenty of bunkers, water, and put of bounds to make your tee shots challenging.
Great looking and wonderful to play
I arrived early for my tee time but was sent straight out. Felt like my own private course. Love fall golf when many others are working or staying home.
Great Deal on an Excellent Course
I woke on Monday thinking I would drive back to CT and play later in the day, until I found the deal for Lazy Swan. I end up in Saugerties area often as my wife is a horse trainer, and there is a show here pretty much all summer. On Monday the course was only $29plus fee so like $30, 18 with a cart. :]
Weather was questinable as storms were moving through the area, but I got 18 in with no rain... Hot, humid, but the rains stayed away. The course is great with recent rain had greens and fairways in great shape. Not too challenging, but a nice track and always fun to play.
excellant greens and fairways
need more directions for location of 18th, sixth and tenth holes. Tee box locations for 3rd and 5th hole next to each other and too close for errant hit towards 2nd green.
Great price
Tee boxes are in rough shape, the need to love the tees more often, I feel they are having a tough time maintaining the course to the level when it first opened, still by far the best course in Greene county
Great Getaway
My husband and I were on a B&B tour through the region and had made a T-time for the day at Lazy Swan based upon the on line reviews. We were not disappointed!
Fairways were is most excellent conditions, challenging fairways, and fun lay-outs made the day stand out among the other places we played.
Next time we're in that area, Lazy Swan is a must do!
Drawback-the back nine had the gravel pathways, and looked a bit unfinished....but was still fun.
We are both intermediate golfers-only lost two balls (each)
cost
If this was a $35 course they'd attract more players back as everything at this place the course is over priced.
Way overpriced
The outside bar area is the best thing about this course. The back of this course is nothing more than a field, really bad. The mens room had nothing to wipe your hands dry with. Saw a few beer cans on ground in the bar area. $60 to play this course is way too much for the conditions. I would not recommend this place unless you have money to throw away.
