Fun course.
It was a fun course to play but you needed to place your shot because it was not a long course.
The greens was the disappointment.
The had a disease. Made them look like sand traps.
Not worth 1/2 of the price we had to pay
This was the only course in SW FL had a noon tee time available 7 days before we wanted to play. The greens fees were in the middle of the range for the local courses, but we’re high enough that I expected the course to be of high quality.
The staff was outstanding, and pace of play was good. However the greens were in terrible shape, and they were recently sanded recently. We were not made aware of that until arrival. The staff said we could get our money back if we decided the course was too rough.
We were in town on vacation and we really wanted to get together with friends to play. This course gave us that opportunity, and we did have a good time.
All in all I thought the course was over-priced for it’s condition. However, I am not from the area, so maybe I’m being too severe in my review. The staff was very nice.
SANIBEL 2.22.22
Fun course, very friendly staff. Unfortunately, they have had some issues with the greens. Between the weather conditions the last 2 months and the water the city was supplying (lots of salt), the greens are in tough shape. They have identified the issues and are addressing them as best they can.
Poor value
Paid $120 for a very mediocre round of golf. A sign was up stating that the greens were in very poor condition and you could get a refund after a couple holes if you wanted it. Should have told you before you made the drive to the course. Greens were covered in sand/fertilizer. Other conditions were fine, but the course is really nothing special. You can play much better courses for cheaper in the area. Only thing great about the course is the wildlife you can see, since a few holes are next to a particularly busy waterway. Wouldn’t pay $120 to golf here again.
Greens what greens
The course was fine for a resort course but there was very little grass on the greens instead a fine powdery layer on the green surface. If it’s a herbicide or fungicide we should have been told. I do not know what it is.
not worth the money
while this course is surrounded by a beautiful natural setting the course itself is in extremely poor condition. One green was actually puttable. tee boxes were beat up and fairways had multiple sparce patches. The club itself should be embarrassed to charge the rates they charge (I paid $126.00 for 18 holes with cart). GolfNow should drop this course from their website!
Horrible green conditions
We booked out tee time a week before playing. When we arrived at the course, there was a sign in front of the door stating that the greens had a tough winter and are in bad shape, if we played a couple of holes and wanted our money back they would accommodate. Though I am glad they were offering this option, I was slightly upset it wasn’t something they couldn’t have told us about ahead of time. Being at the course, at that point, we would not have been able to book another tee time somewhere else. I feel discounts should have been offered since we were locked in to our round. It just really felt like they knew we wouldn’t cancel since we were already there and used that to their advantage and still made us pay full price for a course where putting was essentially impossible.
Greens are in terrible shape and not getting better. Several are 60-80 % sand covering the greens so ball roll and roll after chipping are not real conditions. Ruff in several areas are dead.
They really need to get these greens fixed for the price.
Staff is great and layout is fun.
Ok
Limited golf options on Sanibel Island, relatively low prices (see other courses in the area) and friendly staff keep us coming here. The tee boxes and fairways are passable but the greens are in poor shape. Some improvement seems to be underway especially on back nine. Overall course could really benefit from some TLC by a good superintendent. Then again they’d probably charge another $25-$50 per round if that was the case.
Don’t do it!!
Play golf all my life many many places many different countries many different cities many different courses this is probably in the one of the worst two that I’ve ever played. The greens are 75% sand and it was expensive to play here. We did read one review that said it was bad and we didn’t take their word for it I wish we would have it wasn’t worth $30. And this place was packed slow slow play and just a dog track
Overall okay
Layout was great but course conditions were not good. Greens were fast but horrible and coverd in fertilizer and fairways were sub par with alot of wet spots. Pace of play was great and staff was very friendly.
greens
Greens were very bad. More green sand than grass. Should not be charging $119.00 per round. Big disappointment.
Play Anywhere Else But Here
This has to be the worst golf course in Florida. Horrible greens and fairways. Besides the conditions, they charge full price.
Aerated greens
The course was repairing the greens covered in sand and dead areas. They also had aerated the rough in many areas.
Beautiful wild life and water on most holes. Hit it straight or bring extra balls.
