Greatly improved form January 2025
The course has improved a lot since last year. The greens are 100% better and although the faiways still need work - they are also much more playable over last year. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely play here again!
Course
Horrible conditions post storm . Greens and fairways poor
Friendly staff, excellent greens
Pro shop (Drew) was very accommodating.
Good effort being made to bring the course back from the damage of hurricane Ian.
Greens and fairways in good shape; tee boxes still need work,
Some interesting,challenging holes.
The course was AWFUL!!!
This course is under REPAIR. There was no mention of that fact when I booked it on your site. The tee blocks had NO grass on them, the fairways were patchy grass at best. The restaurant was closed for renovations.
GOLFPASS SHOULD BE AWARE WHEN A COURSE IS UNDER RENOVATION AND NOTIFY ITS MEMBERS OF THAT FACT.
One of the worst golf experiences I have had!!!!
Course is making progress
The course is making progress from the devastation of the hurricanes. It still has a ways to go, green fees could be reduced during the rebuilding.
Work in Progress
The course is going improvements for sure. Tee boxes are ok but can tell they trying to get them better. The greens are green but need work, puts are very slow and not breaking as you would think. It’s a nice course but I wouldn’t pay the greens fee 150.00 right now, maybe worth it later as they get it in better conditions. I believe they will get it in better shape
Terrible Condition
The course conditions were terrible. Every tee box was dirt and zero grass. Greens were ok. Not a single. marker. No amenities on site at all because they are redoing clubhouse. Beverage cart showed up when we were on 15th hole. We waited on every hole. Not worth the $150 we had to pay per person.
Fun island golf. Still recovering from hurricane.
Greens very nice and roll true… just a little on slow side. Course routing makes sense and they were able to squeeze as much golf course as they could in the parcel of land they had.
Tee boxes are still a work in process as are the fairways. It’s a typical Florida golf course with lots of water and you will see plenty of birds along with a gator or two. They gators we saw were all less than 6 feet and are just laying in sun on pond bank
They had just completed the irrigation project and course should only improve in the coming month for Southwest Florida in prime season the price we paid was in line with what I expected.
Pace of plan was very good. We were a foursome (two couples) and finished our round in about 3:40 minutes.
Under repair.
I understand that the course took a real beating from the Hurricane, but to still charge those rates? Greens are in great shape but not mowed. I can work with a course that received that sort of damage, but I think the value is not there.
Not worth the money
Since new ownership took over at Sanibel Island golf club the only visible change they’ve made is purchase new golf carts. Really guys! We had numerous issues playing there, starting with course conditions and amenities. Most tee boxes are either dirt or sand and very hard to find level ground . There are no garbage cans on the course and not one ball washer was found. . My understanding is that they are putting in a new irrigation system which sounds great but every hole has the fairways chewed up with numerous large holes exposed causing havoc with your ball rolling in fairways. It’s been like that for weeks. When we played (it was hot) there was no cart person serving players. Also there is no food or snack bar. That being said if this course is undergoing a major overhaul/reconditioning then price it accordingly. At $150 it’s a joke. They should not be charging more than $75. The only plus was that pace of play was good (attributed to lack of players playing) . Someone is missing the boat here, I’m sure their excuse for the inflated golf rate is that they are trying to generate revenue to fix up everything. Hello. Charge $75 and you’ll get your money needed. No one is playing there and I can’t blame them.
Lastly a shout out to the one and only guy I saw working there (poor guy), I believe his name is Drew.
