Great place
The guy met us at the truck with a cart and took the cart back when we were done. He was great! Very friendly. The pro shop staff was great too. Love their appareall!!
Course was in poor condition
The course was in poor condition, fairways with grass missing or tiny patches of grass if your lucky enough to land on one. The website didn’t say the condition of the course or that they were trenching irrigation line and wires through the fairways. Half of the tee boxes were sand. They should either close the course for maintenance or offer bigger discounts.
Course conditions
This was the worst course condition I’ve played in over a decade. From tee box, fairway and greens, terrible condition. Staff was very friendly but they should shut course down until they complete renovations.
Over priced
Course still in serious repair.. most fairways impacted with irrigation upgrades. Ok so why not a reduction in cost per round? No one is lining up to play here. Traffic congestion to get there is out of control too making this course least desirable.
Sanibel Island
The course was in very bad shape. The maintenance crew was installing sprinkler heads and the fairways looked like they were ravaged by large moles. There were large holes in the fairway where the sprinkler heads were to be installed. There were maintenance crews in the fairways with their carts and tools. They didn’t move when you were playing; only ducking behind their carts. I get that the fairways and rough were damaged by the hurricane but charging $119 to play is too much for these conditions.
Course is in poor shape
This course was in very bad condition. No grass anywhere. Basically play off of either dead grass or dirt/wood chips the entire round. Tee boxes were somehow even worse. Greens were in decent shape but holes hadn’t been replaced in days as grass was growing over the edge of the cup. It clearly is going through some transition as electric and sprinklers are exposed every hole. I would have been fine with all that had we not paid hundreds per person to play there. I would not recommend playing until they complete whatever remodel they are doing.
Sanibel Island
This course is a great challenging layout with awesome scenery and wildlife. Unfortunately it is currently in poor condition as they try to get their irrigation system back up and running. Guys working hard on the new system. Ian, Helene, Milton tough on this area. Hopefully back next season. Despite the poor conditions, we still had lots of fun. Still worth a play if hunting for variety.
Under Repairs
The course is still in rough conditions from Hurricane Ian. Much of the course has to be described as 'under repair' and I moved my ball quite a bit to make sure I was swinging on grass over dirt versus just dirt or gravel. Many of the tee boxes were dirt/sand/and some mixture of gravel -- hard to get your feet planted and set at times. There was also evidence of significant investment and work going on at the course and I did not complain to management because I did play all 18 holes and even under poor course conditions, enjoyed my day. I suggest there prices come down to around $75 a round for 18 with cart -- given the cost of better courses it would make them a more competitive offering and offset some of the poor conditions of the course while they continue to improve the fairways and tee boxes.
Course needs lots of work
Getting on and off the island was a real pain
even though the course was not far from the bridge traffic doesn't move but 1 or 2 miles an hour
Course was in rough shape. Might still be an after effect of hurricane damage?? Putting in an irrigation system so lots of ground under construction, and that didn't help. Will be better once in and running.
Course construction
Layout at this course was good however they were working on irrigation and there was tracts of dug up dirt across the course which impacted enjoyment of the round. Lots of wildlife along the course. Saw at least 7 alligators on this day...
How about some signs!?
Played with friends. The course still has a ways to come back after the storms. Greens were nice, but large portions of the fairways are still bare. This was compounded by holes where they are installing the new irrigation system.
While I understand that bringing the course back takes a lot of work and time, I don't understand the complete lack of signs in the course. Not a single tee box is marked, and there are many holes where you have no idea which way to go to the next tee. Pretty annoying.
Fixing this should be easy.
