Hot Day With Family
We received an outstanding rate from Golf Now to play the course. There was a lot of work being done to the course, but many of the greens were spotty. We played very quickly even with two kids. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative of issues on the course, such as no water. We were prepared and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere.
Horrible Golfcourse
It's not worth what they charge. Expensive and the course is in very bad condition.
Worst course I have ever played
Extremely poor condition. Landscape is nothing but weeds. Fairways had more weeds than grass. Greens the same. Bone jarring cart paths. Bridges falling apart. This entire course is a joke. Save your money. They should pay you to play. This is the worst conditioned golf course I have ever played. It should not even be listed on Golfnow.
Wildfowers
In the past, I have plaid this course several times and I like it very much. The new The new arrangement with all the flowers looks good.
Very Costly and Lack Bathrooms
It was the most expensive of the 5 games we played where in Florida. It was also the worst golfcourse for ammenities such and only one set of bathrooms over 18 holes, no water, and no beer cart evenafter 11am.
The course just lack some love for the golfer and money for the game you paid for.
Golf
Terrible course conditions
Very Poor value
Course is in very poor condition, greens were very slow and had large bald spots. Tees were weeds and grab grass and fairways were full of grab grass, money plants and other weeds.
Would never return.
poor conditions
Staff was friendly but course was in rough shape. Played 18 in 3.5 hours. No food or drinks available on Sundays
not very good condition
driving over the bridge can take 40 minutes plus. allow plenty of time.
challenging island course
this course has improved a lot over the past few years,...greens are in excellent shape....great tee boxes..every hole is challenging and a lot of work has been done to upgrade the landscaping...each year gets better. The owners and staff are very courteous, relaxed and homey atmosphere.....I would definitely keep playing here!
Coming Along
The new owners are slowing making progress. They did a nice job around the tee boxes with the new design of using natural sand and nice plantings. Tee boxes themselves still need work, but since your teeing it up anyway not a show stopper. Fairways are fair but if you roll the ball for a good lie makes them better. Greens have improved within the last year.
On a scale of 1 to 10 for the money they charge
Tee boxes 4
Fairways 4
Greens 6
On the bright side, the layout and piece of property are an 8.
I understand the high price due to it being on the island but I'd like to see more reduced "Specials" especially after 1PM or very early morning
Poor
No Driving Range
Poor for Price
Peasant Day
Course is well designed and fair. Not too many bad suprises
a little rough around the edges
The course has two different nines. Front nine much more interesting. Fairways a little thin, probably due to salt air. Greens were okay, faster than they looked. Staff very friendly. A tourist course, consequently play was a little slow. But that was alright as it's very scenic. A lot of water, but not that much comes into play. I don't know if I would play this course again. A little pricey for the course conditions.
Nice island course
After reading a few of the reviews I was skeptical about this course, but I think some people hold courses to an impossible standard. This course is a good one, and I don't agree with alot of above reviews. Upon arrival at the course, we were greeted by the starter and ushered into the club house. I told them this was our first time here, and they proceeded to give us all the advice that was helpful for this course, including their detailed book of course. HERE is the great part, I told him our tee time wasn't for another 40 minutes, they told us to go ahead out. The course was in pretty good shape, and we had good pace of play until we ran up to a foursome that was obviously playing for a million dollars! The starter actually came out to tell them to move along, but only helped one hole. We had at least 3 couples and a foursome stacked behind us. I've played on better course, and worse for sure. We found greens were rolling good, a few sparsely scattered dead spots, but none that affected our play. Course was a little wet in places, but again, did not really affect our play. Very nice course layout, I enjoyed the challenge of reaching the green on 10 from the tee, which I did, and also on 11. Would definitely play again, and would recommend to all.
Great Island Course
The staff and service this course provides is absolutely excellent. They cater to your every need. As I talked to the owners, they began to tell me the renovations they have done over the past 3-4 years such as re-doing the almost all tee boxes and creating natural waste areas so the course fits into the island feel. I would absolutely play this course again
Trying hard
I hadn't played this course in 7 years. Used to be Beachview but purchased by a couple of local club pros. Long and short of it they try hard and the course is better than before. Complaints of tee boxes etc. don't recognize the attempt to minimize maintenance. Yes the greens are spotty but with over seeding are MUCH better than 7 years ago. Weather was wet and fairways wetter but you are on an island with more rain this month than the past ten years!
$100 is excessive but there are specials and I was glad I played. Totally different product from The Dunes but fun to play.
And everyone is nice.
Not worth the money
Greens were awful........no grass........really?
Grass around t boxes almost nonexistent.
Not a bad layout but need a lot of TLC and routine maintenance.
Overall, not worth even half of the price in its present condition.
wet and windy
Narrow front 9 with tricky water.
we have had a lot of rain but there was so much "casual water" it was sometimes difficult to distinguish from hazards.no one was playing but we were interrupted on first tee by a group playing a club matchand had to follow this slow 4some for nine holes.greens were very bare and tee boxes in poor shape.
A short course but it was not on my gps which picked up all courses in 10 mile radius but not this one.
back nine is a little more open but the wind is even greater.
all in all a mediocre experience.
no water (for drinking)on course and only one washroom on the15th hole.
A Disappointment
First, it is important to say this course is under new management, and have been working to improve the playing conditions. That said, the course has a long way to go to reach a level of quality to match the $100 price tag. Good layout. Short course. Front nine was very wet....fairways not draining. About 30% of the tee boxes and fairways are weeds. Greens are inconsistent....some slow, some really slow, and then others moderately fast. Lots of bare spots in the greens. Back nine is easier, and in better shape. Will not play here again.
Thank you for the feedback, PublicHlthProf! Please know we are continuously working to improve our conditions and we hope you'll play us again soon.
