Good course at a fair price
Better than most of the chewed up courses. Not perfect but a good deal. A lot of lies above and below your feet. Sand traps were raked. A fun day.
Waiting
I’ve played this course countless times but recently I’m finding the rounds here less enjoyable. The course is in decent shape. The fairways are pretty dry and the greens are a nice challenge. But my biggest peeve about this course is the waiting. I think the 10-minute intervals could be spaced out a little further being that the past 3 or so rounds here I’ve had to wait on virtually almost every hole
Disregard for Course
I took a month off and I was shocked and disgusted at how much abuse the course has taken in the last month.
I saw at least 10 incidents where people were driving up to greens (Within 5 feet), people parking along side the tee boxes (Which has been going on for some time because it was totally destroyed) People cutting between tee boxes instead of taking the cart path. Get your rangers out there and stop the thoughtless abuse of the course. My name is George Roesch and I will back up everything I just said.
Dry and almost got hits all the time
First time playing at this golf club. It was fun but we almost got hit multi-times from people hitting over our fairway. The course is very dry and ball can bound anywhere. Green is a little slow. The staffs are very friendly. Cart ladies also come by and ask around if we need anything.
Needs Much improvement
The fairways need to be aerated and the traps are atrocious. Many bare spots on the tee boxes and greens are too fuzzy.
With New Jersey being so close this should be an ideal tourist attraction for Orange County.
Hickory Hills would do better if it didn't fall under the Orange County Dept of Parks which evidently wants to siphon green fees for other parks projects.
Hidden Gem
What a great day it was playing this course, good layout except for a couple of quirky holes. Greens were on the slow side but a lot of undulations made it challenging. Pretty wide open so you just grab that driver and rip it. Rates are very, very reasonable couldn’t believe it, gotta check it out. I know I will be back

This course is a great to play at every level. You can. Hit the ball and not get in trouble. Just a great fun place to play
