Course is on the upswing
Greens were good. On the slow side but rolled well. Players need to fix their ball marks. I fixed at least 4 on every hole. I feel price is a bit high on the weekend with a cart. The times fill up so they can get the rates they charge. Need to pick up the garbage. Trash was filled up n beer cans all over. Come on! Will go back.
Great shape
Course has a couple dead tees, but it looked like they were rehabilitating the longer tees and then would switch it around at a later date. Course is in great shape, especially when you compare to other city park courses. Great challenge. Play was slow on a Saturday but that’s to be expected with the amount of people there on Father’s Day weekend.
Pace of play was dreadful
Friday afternoon pace of play was so slow. Waited 40 minutes at the 4th hole and 15 minute every Joel after that. 3 and a half hours to play 12 holes. Unfortunate for a Friday afternoon
Very nice course
Every time they make upgrades
Beautiful forest park
Plz need include cart when I purchased hot deals
A hidden gem in Queens
If you like trees, and wildlife, you will enjoy Forest Park Golf Course.
You get what you pay for
And sometimes less. Not a great course if you like playing nice courses. Tee boxes are mostly sand. Bunkers are not maintained or raked. If it’s the last course you can play that day, go for it!
Always a fun round
I always look forward to playing here. I seem to perform my best on this course. But the greens were terribly slow yesterday. That is the only criticism. I do appreciate their attention to the changing weather and leaving the course open to continue play once the torrential rain moved through. They did a great job drawing the line between thunder and lightning in keeping the course open.
.
Improvement
Greens are in better shape. Need to be mowed now that they have grown nicely. Super slow.
Newer players need to be educated by the course management in repairing ball marks, fixing divots, and where to park carts. Make the effort hand players a flyer with simple bullet points. Otherwise the course will be In bad shape by mid July. And please can u open up some holes on the practice green??? Jeez.
Architect
Very tight course with players unfamiliar with rules. Hitting up, not calling out 4, etc.
Holiday weekend, so, to be expected!
Well Maintained NYC Course
Given the state of some of the public NYC courses this year, I was pleasantly surprised by Forest Park. Fairways were well maintained as well as the greens. There is evidence of some damage that was done during the pandemic, but for the most part, the greens were running well without too many barren spots. Tee boxes need work, but again, it's a public NYC course so there's only so much they can do given their budgets.
