Great mountain course
If you’re in the Asheville area, I completely recommend playing this great course. Greens are in excellent shape. Lots of the fairways are in good shape too and piece of play was great. Great value for the money. Nice work bringing this course back.
Good but slow greens
There are many good things about this course, but they need to extend the closest fairway off the tee to the left on 13. This hole is really a terrible design for all players.
The red tee boxes were in horrendous shape, even on holes where the other tees were fine.
No water on the course either.
Chestnut Pleasure
Beautiful day on a challenging mountain course - fairways and greens in great shape, rough was a fair challenge to hit out of and traps in good shape. Tees and asphalt cart paths in need of improvement. Staff friendly. Very fair price!
July 4th golf
Enjoyable round of golf, went as a single the club paired me with another single. Had a very enjoyable day.
Staff very accommodating, friendly and informative.
Would recommend playing when in the area.
Chestnut Mountain Golf Course
First time playing Chestnut Mountain. The course is a true mountain course and the views are spectacular. The course is in good condition. However, the tee boxes are very hard so getting a tee in the ground can be challenging. The course has holes on both sides of the mountain. Enjoyed all the holes. Definitely will play the course again and with a little course knowledge I expect to play it even more. We enjoyed our round.
No issues
Course is in good shape, pace expected on a Friday but good overall. Always have a good experience here.
Improving Conditions
Course conditions improved since my last round at Chestnut Mountain GC. Friendly staff and fun layout
Great Challenging Golf Course
Front 9 in superb. Back 9 is a little challenging to navigate and some areas are very tight.
Excellent course
Excellent course, challenging greens. Beautiful views.
Ok course
This course has some pretty good views, but the greens are super narrow and there are some rough spots in the fairways. They have a par five on the backside where you either need to hit a driver or a seven iron and it’s the most contrived hole I’ve ever played.
Most holes are great
Chesnut Mountain GC greens are in very good condition. Two holes that need attention are number 12 and 13. Mostly #13 the par 5. You need way less than driver from most tees and the key shot, your second, is most often a blind shot as distance is unknown and while there is a wide area to land your second shot, only down the right side of the landing area, will get any roll as only the right side is fairway-where the left side is thick rough. I will say that many holes have very generous fairways and sweeping mountain views are great. Several greens have a pretty skinny entrance to them, so accuracy is a premium. It has a wide variety of holes which you'll play better the 2nd time you see them. A very fun day & a friendly staff makes this a real treat for 17 of 18 holes. I'll be back!
