Excellent course, staff, facilities, condition, value, and scenery
Indian Valley is a top notch public course facility located in Burlington.
The staff, led by General Manager Fred Ireland, is helpful, friendly, and professional.
Indian Valley did an excellent job with safety measures during the Corona Virus outbreak.
PVC foam in the cup was a good move. Plus, this creates a good pace of play, not having to putt out.
The course is very scenic, especially for this avid outdoor photographer. #10 along the Haw River stands out. Any hole on this layout has its own signature.
My wife enjoyed riding with me on the first nine.
Fred is an asset to Indian Valley. He is the reason I will make this a regular course.
One "challenge" with a fellow golfer was handled discreetly and professionally by Fred.
Put Indian Valley on your top public golf facilities in North Carolina!
Thank you..
golf outing
We were a foursome that were looking for a golf course the we could play before continuing on to Myrtle Beach, this course was in what we consider a remote area and we did not know what we were getting ourselves into. When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman at the pro shop who was very polite and friendly. He advised us that we could go straight out on one condition, we had to birdie the first three holes.
We started the round and between the four of us we did not have one birdie throughout the whole round. It was a very enjoyable experience. Thank you.
Fun Course
Nice course and great value. There’s some greens that are being fixed, but most were in good condition. My only negative; maybe not turning the sprinklers on in the mid afternoon with players on the course. Otherwise, I’ll come back sometime, had fun.
First Time, But Not the Last
Very good layout with great fairway conditions. Some problems on some greens, but nothing that would interfer with play. They are recovering nicely from problem patches and very receptive even though it had been very dry the previous 2 weeks. The range was the only thing sub-par.
A great value. I plan to play again soon.
Great course
It took less than 30 seconds to checking. Pace of play was great. We started at 8 am and were done by 11.
Good course with its challenges
I enjoyed the course with its narrow lanes off the Tee boxes on a few holes. Several challenges on other holes. Lots of trees in areas of play so it will test your ability somewhat. Could only play back 9 cause tournament on front. Did not know that before going there otherwise would have went somewhere else. Did get rain check for front so will go back and play. Greens were flat and smooth but sun burnt as well so they could really use some care. Overall pleased with course except greens.
Great value
It was my first time playing Indian valley .The staff was friendly, the course was in good shape. And for the price, it was a great value. I will definitely be back.
6/18/19
Just played today June 18. Course was in great shape. Greens were pretty slow but not bad considering it rained last night. Only complaint was the pace of play. Got behind 2 slower groups who wouldn't waive me through but overall a good course and will be again.
Good Value for the Money
I live in Alamance County but rarely play Indian Valley because it is pretty far from the interstate. I played with a friend over Memorial Day weekend for the first time in over a year and was impressed. Indian Valley is a good layout, with a variety of holes and hazards to challenge most players, but tends to stay soggy after rain because it runs along the Haw River. The greens are in very good shape, having been re-done a few years ago. Fairways were in good shape, and the pace of play was very good. The carts have recently been updated , and staff was friendly.
Hidden gem
This course remains one of the best kept secrets in the Greensboro area.
The greens are always phenomenal.
The course is challenging in ways that most new courses are not. You won't bomb your way around this place. This is a shot-makers course.
My only complaint is that the yardages from the red tees are difficult for my wife. But she's not a long hitter so that's maybe not the course's fault so much.
This course is a very fair test and a welcome change from the bomb and gouge layouts everywhere else.
Tee time was during a golf outing...
We arrived at the course and it was extremely busy for a Saturday morning. Lots of people going all over the parking lot, it looked lie they were getting ready for an outing. We went to check in and the staff had a good laugh. Our tee time did not exist as the course had been booked for a church golf outing. They said we could come back during the week and play for free. But since we were just visiting from out of state we turned them down. The proshop did tell us of other courses in the area that we might be able to get a tee time at. Luckily we did get one within the hour.
