Pleasant Saturday morning round
No Starter around to control tee times but everyone was good about starting on-time as was our 8:30 start. There was dew in play the first 4 holes. Pace was slow to start on account of one foursome that had at least two hackers in that group. Once we navigated by them on the 7th hole , our round was completed in a total time of 3 1/2 hrs. From tips to green the course conditions were very good, Greens were better than okay , firm and did not have unfixed divots everywhere like many other courses at this time of year. Sand traps were solid & packed , they just needed a good racking . Course has good movement and elevation changes to keep things interesting and simple. Set to replay again in a few days. Played well but I know I could do better. Staff was friendly. You hit off grass on the Driving range . The carts and cart paths are all in very good shape. Recommend this out of the way gem.
Blind tee shot bell??????
There are numerous blind tee shots due to the rolling terain. It just boggles the mind to me that they didnt have one freakin bell to let next group know its safe to drive, doesnt make much sense. Also no drinking water was out, no ball washers, ranger didn't push the pace of play, but BS'd with group ahead. Wild place. All these complaints can easily be made right and this course would be great, but it was not yesterday...
Another good day!
We really like Quaker Creek. Out of the way, usually NOT crowded. Only complaint is the blind shots, of which there are a few ... i don't mind the blind shots, actually i welcome them 6100 yard course that plays shorter. Problem is, "others" ... who have no qualms about firing off their teeshots WITHOUT regard for the group in front of them. I guess they could put a few "bells" to be rung after you've hit your approach shots and are exiting the fairway. Or you can just drive ahead and make sure the landing area is clear.
Great deal
We played on a day where it was about 46-50 degrees for all 18 holes. The greens were in good condition. The greens seem to be crowned so all irons into green seem to roll away from pin. The fairways are still brown but there was plenty of grass to hit from. There are several par threes that you have to carry water. The course is a good deal and is about 5 miles north of Mebane. I would like to play here again when the course is in prime condition.
Wasn’t expecting the nicest course in the world for $22 but I was surprised. The greens are fast , the fairways are pretty well maintained and the course itself had a fun layout. Some challenging holes and greens. The only reason I’m not giving this course 5 stars is they don’t have pin placements. Outside of that, I think you’ll be hard pressed to find another course in the area that’s this good for this price!,
Nice for beginners
I will be back! I enjoyed the course. Pace was slow due to a group in front, but it kept things leisurely with the group I joined.
One of my favorites
Quaker Creek is a surprisingly nice public course just north of Mebane. Usually not too crowded and you can bite off as much as you want. There are senior tees and white, blue and black tees. The tops are almost 7,000 yards so don't think you will dominate this course. Greens are in decent shape and extremely difficult. No flat, straight putts anywhere. Nice island green on #11 and several nice holes on this good layout. There are no houses around the course and you are truly out in the country. Definitely recommend.
nice track
Nice layout, small fast greens for a public course.
Good round
Grains were in good shape nice layout I play from the gold tees my son play from the whites and we had a decent round enjoy the day beautiful weather played with a couple other guys they were fun I recommend this course to anyone
Quaker Creek Review
Great day to golf, course was very wet from previous rains but still playable.
Quaker Creek Review
Hidden little gem in Mebane, great value for your money.
Great Value
Nice mid-level course and great value for the money. Holes by the club house (trailer) are straight and boring but holes further back on the property are way more interesting. Greens are a bit splotchy but it’s winter and they definitely roll better than they look like they would. Will definitely play here again.
*my edit* should read ... "i welcome them ON THIS 6100 yard course ..."
