About
Located near the banks of Swift Creek, Lochmere Golf Club has plenty of water incorporated into the layout, coming into play on nearly every hole. The golf course stretches across a lush, gently rolling landscape sprinkled with mature trees and ponds. The terrain showcases the best in Triangle golf. At just over 6,600 yards it is not particularly long, but it provides plenty of challenges. It is a tight course that will test your accuracy with narrow fairways lined with trees. The small greens that are heavily protected by well placed bunkers demand thoughtful strategy and pinpoint control. The golf course offers a fair challenge but it is still accessible for beginners, especially from the forward tees. Lochmere G.C. is a favorite among Cary locals, both for its enjoyable design and its affordable rates.

Amenities Needed to upgrade urgently
Bathroom on the course is falling down, cleaning issues, golf cart ball and club washer never filled with water as well as on each hole ball washer
Nice and friendly environment
I did my first Eagle on this course so I will be back:-)
Not worth the price.
Staff seemed friendly. Not a $60 course even though I did get a discount and got it cheaper. Cart path only so pace of play was slow. Course wasn’t that wet, so not sure why CPO. I could see CPO on some holes, but most holes were pretty dry. Nice lay out on the course. Not enough grass this time of year. Might be a great course when grass comes in. As for now not worth it. Food seemed a little high for me. $11 hotdogs seems ridiculous.
First time.
We had maybe 1.5 inches of rain and after a full day of sunshine the fairways were still waterlogged. I plugged two drives in the middle of the fairway. Tee boxes were just as wet. What happens when a real storm comes?
Greens were also very slow when I played. Probably a 7 on the stump. Was hard to adjust.
I’m sure it’s a pretty course when it dries out and the leaves are green. It was a very nice day and still enjoyed the walk.
Lochmere Wednesday
First warm day in long time so very crowded. Really slow on back nine. Course was pretty wet as usual so cart path only which did not help speed.

Course in Great shape for winter golf
Greens are in great shape, sand traps as well. When course is cart path only you realize paths are needing some repairs from age and tree roots in many locations.
It’s okay
Course conditions are always pretty good. Pace of play is always one of the worst around. A lot of amateurs that can barely hit a ball go to learn. This unfortunately causes a huge slow in pace. Other than that a pretty average experience. Pretty overpriced unless you get a deal.
Lochmere Golf Course round
Course was in very good shape. Course was full, so had to wait on a few tee boxes, but overall pace of play was good.. Greens were very nice shape and had great change of speeds depending on the grain. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Snack bar sandwiches, hot dogs and fresh made kettle chips were great!Overall, very enjoyable experience and great value! JF
Great course
Fun walkable course that’s constantly improving. Great care of greens and fairways. I always have a great time playing here and enjoy visiting with the hard working and knowledgeable staff.
Good Course Conditions
First time at Lochmere for 2025. The course is in very good condition and the greens are as good as I've experienced in 3 years! A little hardpan around the edges of rough/fairways but overall good shape. They could use a bit more sand in the bunkers....kind of thin and inconsistent depth.....and other players could learn how to use a rake!!!!!!!
