The Worst Course in the area.
The staff was very nice, but that is all that is nice at South Granville Country Club.
It is the worst course that I have played in the area.
The greens were ok, but the rest of the course was unplayable.
Fairways were like something from a nightmare that continued with the tee boxes matching the same nightmare.
The course layout is awful and the yardage is not even close to the tee markers yardage or what is the mysterious yardage listed on the scorecard.
I would not be back even if it was free to play.
Course conditions were just ok
I wish the course was a little better maintained. Maybe it’s still early in the season but lots of dirt spots. Traps were not sand.
Great Course and Value
No houses on the course. Challenging layout and greens!
Surprisingly decent
Course was in decent shape, rained the night before. Played a $15 hot deal and they sent me off early as there were member foursomes coming in since the rain was that bad. Comparable to hillandale but I’d say slightly better drainage and greens. No pace of play issues as I was the first out.
Great layout, poor condition
Weeds everywhere. The course itself is nice and semi challenging. The course needs a lot of maintenance.
Course was a big puddle. Its not about the amount of rain fall - it isnt the only course where it rains. Its about basic drainage - most of the course has done.
Great for the price
Course was in excellent condition for the price. My big gripe was the pace of play going but for it to be so inexpensive and for it to be a Saturday one can understand what level of golfers would crowd the course.
Good greens - muddy fairways
The course has small, but nice greens that are in good shape for February. The fairways were wet, so cart path only leads to walking through some mud.

Quality course for the money
Granville was a solid course for the money, above all the greens were well kept. With that being said, many of the greens are small and essentially on a “pedestal”, so despite the shortness of the course, it can be very challenging. Depending on your level of play, this is definitely a diamond in the rough for the Raleigh metro area, I’ll definitely have a return trip.
