Great potential but overcrowded.
I've played Pevely a few times now and I thought I'd write to warn anyone that although the course is beautiful it's challening with a lot of elevation change and spread out. It also has a lot of places to lose balls so you need to be on your game.
But the real downfall of this course is that they pack it way to crowded. I've not had a single game that was not at least 30m behind starting and took much to long to play. It's always backed up and that just ruins the play for me. So, if you want a challenging course and don't mind standing around waiting, then it's a nice place. If your like me though and prefer to play 18 in 4.5hrs or less then there are better places for the money.
Great afternoon course for the $
Pevely is a great value! Great afternoon course for the $.
Peavley
Course in good condition. Fairways give you a challenge with there uneven lies. Greens had a lot of unfixed diviots but still rolled good. Overall a nice lay out.
slow play
I think the rates have been reduced since the course is under a little construction. (Hole #3). Lately I've seen slower play than usual.
Pace of play = horrible
Hole number 3 is all messed up. We asked the pro shop if the rocks on the greens are a new feature. The pace of play was absolutely horrible. We played 13 holes in 4 hours and 15 minutes before we left the course. The starter was yelling at us to go to the first tee 20 minutes before the tee time.
Nice course, horribly slow
Overall the course was very nice. Good condition and challenging with the wind. Some blind shots so the 2nd time playing should be easier. Not sure what is going on with hole # 3, appears they are making it into a par 3 but the new green isn't ready. Maybe to cut down on shots going into the road. The main complaint was pace of play. Teed off at 1:54 on a Sunday afternoon and finished hole 15 around 6:15. We didn't stay for 16-18. That is just unacceptable. We waited on every shot and I did not see a ranger anywhere to get people to speed up. I think there was 1 group causing most of the problems as every time I saw them they were searching for lost golf balls or still sitting in the cart socializing while their partners hit and not going to their ball. I prefer Aberdeen and Gateway more but will be back if I can find a good deal.
Nice course
Very nice course and love to play it. Would highly recommend.
Best Golf Value in STL
without a doubt this is my favorite course in the metro area.
Great course for a reasonable rate ($39 for Seniors during the week!! Very challenging but fair....and the course is always in super shape.
Can't say enough good things about this golf experience!! If you want good golf this is the place to go!!
Greens in Great shape, but very, very slow
Greens great. Course overbooked. 3 hrs on front 9!
Very nice clubhouse and practice facility
Even though the weather was poor, 40 degrees and cloudy, the 18 hole round was still enjoyable. Arriving early to practice before the round we found the driving range closed due to heavy overnight rain but the pro shop said we could start when we were ready. Which was nice since we paid on line through GolfNow for $19.00. The practice green was open and was of enormous size and represented the speed of the course greens very nicely. The course played well for the overnight weather and was fun to play. We played the next set of tees behind the ladies tees which seemed to off set the weather which made the round very enjoyable.
December Golf
Had a warm day in December and didn't want to waste it. Since it was not very warm, I figured only hard core golfers would be out. I was wrong. Pace of play was brutal due to a couple of groups. Front side had groups that started on the back. Thinking that the 5 some, two groups in front, were the ones holding everyone up, we played out the front in 3 hrs and 15 minutes. Figuring we'd breeze through the back in less than 2 hrs. Played hole 10 in 5 minutes, pulled up to 11 and had a group in the fairway and one on the tee box. Went back to hole 1 and played the front 9 again at a much faster pace. Again, it was December golf and the course is a challenge for even experienced golfers. Great course and will play again.
Pevely Farms
this course stands with Mo Bluffs, Annbriar, Gateway, Tapawingo and Aberdeen as the best public courses that the metro StLouis area has to offer! Holes 7-9 are the toughest to play into the wind and could make great finishing holes.
title1
very windy the day played, little drinking water on course, rough was deep
Nice Course
Challenging course with distance and next to no flat lies along with all the dog leg holes. Course could be a top tier course if greens were faster. Tee Box and Fair Ways are in great shape.
Extremely good value and nice views
After three days of intermittent rain, the sun came out. Conditions were perfect at 65-75 degrees (morning until afternoon). The course however was extremely wet, probably due to very poor drainage (even wet on elevated slopes). Greens were fine and approximately 9-10 in speed. Pace was good until 15th hole where everything backed up. Very nice layout. Would definitely play again. Some tricky holes with hidden greens and short runways.
Rough rough
Very nice course. Country club condition. Rough a little long. I know you are not suppose to go there but if you do you should be able to see the ball. Lost two just off the fairway. But still a nice place to play. A nice challenge. Will be back.
Pevely Farms golf Course
Fairways were immaculate but the greens some what damaged. Seems fixing ball marks is an option here and there was some damaged areas that looked like a fungus or disease. Driving range while large doesn't assist in working on your short iron shots.
Great course!!
Beautiful course! There were a couple sand spots on a few greens but other than that the course was perfect
Not bad...
Course was pretty good, being in the rough was definitely a punishment. The greens were fairly slow compared to other courses I've played over the past few weeks.
Sir,
We're very sorry to hear about your poor experience. We'd like to hear any and all of your complaints so that we can serve you better next time. What are the biggest things you think we can address that would turn your rating into 4 or 5 stars?
