Golfer Reviews
August greeens
Typically, it's a very well maintained course/greens, but greens were struggling due to a summer's long heat/humidity, excessive storms, and lots of play, and this course holds water due to literally being in a valley.
The stronger greens were as good as always, the weaker greens were not. The going rate is $125-160ish, we did not pay that, but would have been pretty disappointed if we had, given the current conditions, So, I was generous with 3 star rating on "value for the money." In its prime conditions, spring and fall, it should be a $100-$125 course for tourists max, and should be $75-100 max for locals in order to earn 5 stars on "value for the money."
Sunday at Maggie Valley
Had a really good time as always played the course.
Some of the tea boxes were a little rough, but the course was in good condition. Just wish people would fix their ball marks. Will be back.
Fun course
Everything great except for getting paired up with hacker. Dude was so bad sort of ruined the day.
Decent course
Decent course with good conditioning. Nice views of surrounding mountains. Worth the drive if you can get rates $60 or less. Not a $100 course.
Good course overall
Pace of play was slow. Course was in excellent condition.
Front 9 vs Back 9
2 golf worlds on one course. I really enjoyed the aspect change between the two. Course knowledge would've been a plus but with the GPS provided the course was pretty much in front of you. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Course was in great shape with a few exceptions. Very much looking forward to playing this course again the next time I'm in the area.
The Started needs supervision
“The starter sent groups off so early that by the second hole there was enough traffic to qualify for a highway expansion project.” He was pushy. He must have had somewhere to be that was more important than doing his job. Several groups commented that they were hustled to the first tee 20 minutes prior to their assigned time. The wait started on the first hole and only got worse.
Great Condition
We love Maggie Valley. They punched the greens a little over a month ago, I think and they are all healed up. With all the rain we've been getting, the course is in beautiful condition.
Met all expectations
Great staff, great layout. Pace was good. A must do when I the area.
Maggie Valley Golf course review
Absolutely beautiful course very nice greens with exceptional breaks. I've played for over 40 years and i played it all the way back. Incredible layout if you like elevation changes and mountain views. Some of the elevation changes are at least two clubs. This adds to the challenge. Shot 49/38 due to refusing to take drops on 3. I was having a Tin Cup moment. I can't wait to come back and play it again. It is so worth the time.
