Village Greens Golf & Country Club
About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Every hole has temporary green
16 temporary greens and 2 holes closed. No notice that course was under repair. Course probably won't be ready until next year.
Reworking ALL Greens
Village Greens is reworking ALL of their greens. The course is in terrible shape.
In our opinion, they should have either worked on the greens in the fall/winter or closed the course.
We paid $42 per person for a round, and we lost money. We won't be back.
This course is under greens renovations
Overall it was a good course, but now they are undergoing greens renovations. 15 out of 16 holes had temporary greens that make putting unpredictable. 2 holes there was no room for a temporary green so you have to skip holes #6 and #15. If it was in the description, I didn’t see it. I have played here in the past and it can be an enjoyable experience.
Temporary greens are tough
Beautiful course, friendly staff. The temp greens make for a long day though. Their placement on the back 9 were incredibly difficult.
I’ll definitely be back, but not until Reno is finished.
Also gold now app needs to update the description. You can only play 16 holes here right now. Golf now made it sound like two holes weren’t on temporary greens, when there are actually two holes you can’t play at all.
Coarse under construction
Coarse under construction, do not go here. Booked through golfnow and didn’t know that it was under construction but absolutely horrible conditions. Not even worth playing for free
With temporary gems
With temporary greens it was awful I hated it but when playing with the original greens awesome course couldn't play 3 holes die to temporary greens
They don’t tell you
They say that there are 16 greens because they are working on 2 but that is a lie. I can’t remember but they are working on at least 6 greens so those have temporary greens in front of them. Still fun but not what they told me when I called to check on the course before I booked. I would wait until they get all the renovations done to go.
Good for the price
Decent price for the round.
Pace of play is horrible but moves.
Great course overall except 18th hole. It’s laid out wonkie
Poor playing conditions
Course was super dry and grass was brown.
Charging $50 per round per person for this poorly manicured course is ridiculous.
Great outing
Great course. Worth the money. Surprisingly slopy and hilly but still great shape.
Challenge
Some holes are tougher than others due to blind tee shots. Greens were fast. Fairways are coming in nicely. Enjoyed the challenge.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING GOLF COURSE
I PLAYED VILLAGE GREEN CC FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME ON A COURSE SINCE 2010 AND MY 9YRD SONS FIRST TIME EVER. THE COURSE AND THE CULTURE THERE WAS FAMILY AND FRIENDLY. First time booking through Golf Now but it was effortless and a smooth transition. Village Green was and is still a premier course in the upstate! Staff is always friendly!
