About
River Falls Golf Plantation in Duncan is a Gary Player Signature Course. Its location makes it convenient for meeting up with people coming from Asheville, Columbia, Atlanta, or Charlotte. The golf course is also just minutes away from downtown Greenville. The narrow layout will test the accuracy and shot making abilities of even the best golfers. Rolling hills provide a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Water hazards come into play frequently and there are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens and fairways. Player crafted a golf course that is both formidable and scenic. The abundance of mature trees helped him achieve this. He carefully wove River Falls Golf Plantation through the mature forests, allowing the trees to surround the holes, giving each a secluded and peaceful feel.

Golfer Reviews
Good Time as Always…
I’m a big fan of this course. Pace of play can be slow at times but that’s to expected on a Saturday. Really looking forward to when the heat breaks. It can be brutal when it’s 98 and pace of play is slow. Again, though, course is in great shape. And great value for money.
Ridiculous 5 hour round
The conditions for the most park are good. The greens are rocks as in any ball that lands on them trampolines off of the green. Some holes are tricked up a bit so if you don’t know where to hit your tee shot you can end up in a lot of trouble. Absolutely ZERO things for women in the Pro Shop.
Worth Playing
This was my first time playing River Falls. It is a true Gary Player layout. There’s a premium in hitting the fairway, which was a challenge on some holes as the tee shots were blind. Knowing your yardages is really important. Looking forward to playing it again now that I have actually seen the holes.
Fun Course
Enjoyed playing River Falls for the first time. I particularly enjoyed the hilly terrain. That feature alone made for some interesting shots-and bounces. I thought that the greens were in great shape for this time of year.
I look forward to playing this course again, knowing what I have learned of the course layout.
Challenging and rewarding
Played on "Hot Deal" with 3 others on a hot day in June. Started easy enough but holes seemed to get progressively more challenging. Tees, fairways in good shape but greens were difficult to get used to (slow, but in good shape). Moisture around greens (front side) made approaches more challenging. Some "blind" holes and not used to some of the carries made for some challenges but enjoyable. Good bar with friendly barkeeper. No on-course refreshments. Starter gave tips and was very friendly. Would play there again if in the area.
Beautiful course
Well maintained and offers a variety of challenges to make it more fun.
Nice course. Some flaws
Course was really nice. You’re able to let it rip on a couple which is nice and then there are some nice strategic play holes. The only problem I had was the greens are extremely narrow. Some of them are long, but they’re still narrow. Also was not a huge fan of. The fact that you can’t play as a single and they pay you with people. Very nice staff though
Great Layout, nice conditions & great Value
This course is very underrated. The first 2 holes are normal but starting on #3 the course changes into much more. Challenging but fair along with Elevation changes, the River, Ponds & Streams and a very nice natural setting. You are playing through a nice development but the natural setting combined with Wildflowers, grass that is maintained but not cut down & overall tranquility make this a must play. Hope to play here again.
great course and atmosphere
If you want to play some golf and see beautiful sides of nature, this is your course
Course Was In Great Shape.
Course was great, good mix of having to be strategic with your shots and being able to leg the driver fly. Pace of play was great. My only issue is they sent us out as foursome with two twosome’s right behind us. Our group did the hot deals tee time, but just felt like it could have been handled a little differently. But very minor issue, let the groups play through and everyone was cool about it. Looking forward to going back now that I have some course knowledge.
