Fred Enke Golf Course

Course was overall good, especially after reseeding. Wish they had ball washers on every tee box, but there are none on the entire course. Be prepared to bring the balls you used home to wash off due to the huge amount of mud your ball collects during play. Also, it would be nice to have trash cans at least every three holes so golfers can properly dispose of trash. I stopped several times to pick up trash along my way.

Cart path only until 10/16. Pace was great 3:40 as a 4some.. condition and layout were good although the greens were hairy and slllooowww.

We had a five hour and ten minute round. The course need a ranger. We pay good money and deserve to enjoy our round. The people in front were hitting second and third shots repeatedly. They would not hit if they could see people in front of them, even if they had not hiit a ball that far all day. They were rude and would not let us through. Not my first slow round at this course. On a positive note, the course is in really nice shape. With three people in the pro shop, it would not be difficult to send a person around to check pace of play.

The grass off the fairways and greens is pretty thick so this course is a ball eater. As a bogey golfer, I had to switch to the cheaper balls after losing 2-3 balls being 3 feet off the fairway! It's a public course so I wasn't expecting PGA conditions. After the first 6 holes, I realized your best bet was finding the lost ball of previous players and giving up on your own ball.

The grass on the greens was quite long thus leading to very slow putts. The rough has more weeds than grass making many lies unplayable because there was a crabgrass clump behind or beside the ball all day. Also the shrubbery along the cart paths was overgrown and hard to avoid getting struck by them as your drove alone. Many of those overgrown bushes had thorns and did damage my shirt. Lastly, the cart paths themselves are not well maintained leading to very bumpy ride that even going slow jolts your back.

Fairways were covered with grass clippings, so sometimes it was hard to find the ball.

Staff wasn’t too knowledgeable about course policy.

Covered parking for most patrons.

Pro shop and restaurant were clean, so that’s a plus.

When you first pull up, you think that this course is going to be rundown. But to my surprise, it was well kept,fairways and greens were in good condition. Staff were very friendly and the course was very challenging playing from the tips. I got a good deal on golfnow.com. They have covered parking, which is a must. I definitely recommend this course.

Played at noon, course was wide open. It was cart path only due to heavy rains night before.Greens were still healing from aeration. This course demands good shot selection and discipline to play it safe. This is the most challenging of the city courses, desert golf at its finest. Good driving range and great putting and chipping practice greens

The city courses are all over priced. $50+ is too much to play this course at this time of year. The course has relatively few players

Enke is a well run, challenging course. Conditions on the course are excellent. The layout was unique and tests your skills. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. I will book another round soon.

I have played here several times, conditions are average or sometimes real good. However this day was not, I have never seen greens mowed in the manner which these were. They were cut with smaller sized width, in a back and forth manner, thus creating a huge difference from one direction to another. At best these greens may have rolled out to a 5. Extremely bumpy, it was a joke plain and simple. Fred Enke should be embarrassed for presenting a product in this way. Very disappointing.

The course was in okay shape especially since it will get punched next week. The pace was terrible. We had a foursome in front of our twosome which did not seeming willing to let us through despite numerous holes free in front. We waited on virtually every hole despite our being on their butts. We chose not to hit into them.

The price was okay although we can get other courses that are better at the same rate. Troon has done nothing to improve the experience.
