del Lago Golf Club
About
del Lago Golf Club sits at an elevation of 3,400 feet, enjoying a temperature that is five degrees cooler than Tucson in the summer, which makes a big difference under the hot Arizona sun. Winding through the hills and valleys of the high desert, the golf course features over 120 feet of elevation changes that present tricky uneven lies. The dramatic undulations also offer beautiful views of the Rincon and Santa Catalinas Mountain ranges. Golfers start at the highest point on the course and then play down into the valley before getting to the back nine, which plays along the Pantano Wash. The first hole is the only forced carry on the course, the remaining holes are friendlier off the tees. Seven lakes dot the golf course, coming into play on six holes, and there is also heavy bunkering around the greens.

Great course!
I always love playing this course not to hard or to easy keeps me on my toes and always reminds me I need to practice more lol.
Absolutely Wonderful
We were the first group off the tee, just a twosome, and we rolled along famously finishing in two hours and forty-five minutes. It was wonderful not having to wait for anyone and to have a wonderful rhythm for the round. Ed was very kind to let us split our first off the tee foursome into two twosomes so we could enjoy this wonderful course at our pace. We are both 11 handicap players who are ready to play when it’s our turn and walk briskly between shots. Thank you Del Lago.
FAIRWAYS
Worst condition in the twelve years I've been playing Del Lago. Green top notch, T boxes adequate.
Disappointed
The tees and greens were fine. Little grass on the fairways made everything a tight lie.
Terrible
Worst course in southern Arizona in my opinion, I think they should just shut this place down and someone new should take over. It appears to me that they have no concern for getting this course in decent shape. Save your money, go ANYWHERE else.
Horrible condition
Tee box and greens were in decent condition. Fairways are in horrible condition. Waste of money to play course in this condition. Better off to play a Tucson city course or drive to Benson.Would not recommend this course in this condition!!
Rough condition
Tee boxes are about the best grass you will see on course. Fair ways are very dry and rough shape. Not worth what was paid for the round. Course has gone downhill since last year. Would not recommend. Should have known when booking why there was early tee times available.
Terrible Conditions
We heard things improved at the course so we gave it a try. Nothing has really changed. It’s sad. It’s an excellent layout, but it’s in terrible condition. It’s not worth the money for sure. We won’t be back until after overseeding.
T boxes and greens are decent. Fairways are poor to say the least. A good shot from the t is rewarded with a tough follow up shot. A lot of dirt rocks and crab grass. The bunkers are concrete. The driving range is in good shape. There’s only water at the turn unless you buy from the beverage girl. It’s a bummer the course is struggling the lay out is great if they could fix the fairways and bunkers it would be a great course to play.
Declined
This course is not close to my home so I do not play very often. Idk what happened to the course but it used to be well maintained and a fun round of golf. The course was in terrible shape the fairways were either dirt or weeks. The greens were in good shape but that was all. I am always looking for courses to take friends and family when they come in from out of state and I will remove this one from the list. It was a very disappointing round of golf.
Needs Attention
This is the first time in over sa year since I've played this course. It has changed drastically. Although the greens were in very good condition, the same can't be said for the tee boxes and fairways. The grass on the tee boxes needed to br mowed and the fairways lacked grass. Instead of grass turf that were full of clovers and crab grass. The most disappointing hole was the 18th, the signature hole. It used to be a beautiful hole with bunkers, a pond, and reefs. Now, the bunkers are overgrown and the pond is almost gone. This is course is not worth current $60-$70 price but maybe the $20.
Not a good experience..
We where a 2some playing mid morning on Sunday . The group in front of us had us waiting on almost. Every hole
The greens were in fine shape but the rest of the course wasn't . Landing in the fairway had you hitting off hardpan a lot of the time . No ranger to complain to , no drinking water , bathrooms in sad shape . There was a refreshment cart coming around . I used to like this course even though it 's a 45 minute drive . Now it's affordable but not worth the trip .
Poor conditions
The fairways are awful. Don’t go into the rough. It’s just foot tall weeds. Greens and tee boxes are okay. I used to play here a lot, but since they got new ownership, the quality continues to nose dive.
Used to be great
I’ve been playing Del Lago for years. Over the last few months, the course quality has consistently declined. Fairways are absolutely awful. The rough is more like a foot of weeds. They changed the clubhouse restaurant to a Mediterranean style. Not exactly what I want after a round. I won’t be playing here again until the new ownership can figure out how to actually run a golf course.
Great!
It was great, course was in great condition greens were soft. Fairways were a little dry and rough, but overall solid. Staff was friendly and hot dog in the restaurant was delicious!
