Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
About
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon offers two 18-hole championship courses, the Legends and the Champions. Nestled in the foothills of the San Gorgoncio and San Jacinto Mountains, both courses have a scenic landscape that offers stunning views. The Legends Course is the newer of the two but it provides just as challenging a game as the Champions, which is a PGA Tour favorite. The Legends twists and turns through the winding elevations, demanding accuracy throughout. Like its sister golf course, there are numerous steep-lipped bunkers treacherously placed along the greensides. The rough is also tall, thick, and unforgiving. The tricky par-3 fourth hole is played from the highest point on the property. From the tee, the canyon seems more intimidating but the wildly sloped green is where the challenge begins.

Golfer Reviews
Friendly Staffs
Always pleasant to play at either Champion or Legend. Fairways are decent. Greens are good. I wish they soon add fresh sand in the bunkers.
Nice course for the money!
Course was in pretty good condition. Bunkers were pretty bad though. We play here quite a bit and it has always been very good. We will be back for sure!!
Pace was super
4 hours round.
Nice course I always like to play here.
Price is low course is great What you need know anymore?
Legends Course
Legends was a very challenging course but still had a great round. Very old skool feel but course was kept great. I recommend this course because of the quality and price. Will be back in the near future. Lady at the bar was nice and I guess they only open fri-sun but food was great. Thank you
Their legend course was good, idk why it has bad reviews.
Played the legend course today 6/20/26. Had a pleasant time to be honest. The greens were good, fairways were kept, and tee box was decent. I read a lot of reviews that just made it seemed like it was terrible. For the most part, it was a solid 18. I did not play their other course so I can’t say anything on that. The legend course was good overall.
The bunkers were the worst though. Very hard and not sanding at all, not playable. They definitely need to throw some sand in there forsure.
Beautiful course, but bunkers need some attention
I enjoyed my round Friday afternoon. Pace of play was good. The course had a few issues. A few fairways were very saturated. As I walked, it was very spongey or muddy. We had a few mud balls. Bunkers were either very shallow with hard dirt or had standing water. This may all have been a result of the efforts to put out the recent fire nearby, so I won't hold it against them. You could see the burn areas from the course. Other than that, most of the course looked fine. Staff was friendly. I'd play here again.
Bad Shape
Used to play this course regularly years ago. It used to be very nice. It needs a whole lot of TLC. Most of the fairways and greens are in disrepair.
Neglected
The tee boxes are in poor shape, fairways are decent shape for the most part… allot of repair needed on many holes. Bunkers are in horrible shape, all dirt, like hard pan.. terrible! Greens are in good shape. It looks like holes were washed out from a rain storm… would not recommend!
Legends course needs work in many areas
The good first..
tough course, great layout, fairways and greens are in good shape
Pace of play excellent “no one there playing “
Price is good
The bad:
Range closed at 12:00 sold range balls at 11:45 with no mention of that when I bought them
Lots of maintenance going on
Standing water with no markings on several holes
No paper scorecards-“ not a deal breaker “
Tee boxes in bad shape
Sand traps are All completely unplayable
Saw cart girl on hole # 2 had enough ice for 2 cups
Never saw her again
All water stations empty
No coolers on cart so was a long hot day with nowhere to get water or drinks
Guy came by on hole 16 gave us 4 bottles of water
Nice but a bit late
A great course but needs a lot of attention
The price made it worthwhile not sure about going back

Tee boxes and sand traps need some work
Tee boxes were terrible and sand traps are hard as a rock and need sand in them. Also, the group in front of us lied to the starter and used our name to tee off early. We showed up 7 minutes early to our tee time at 11:42am and gave our name and time. The starter said, someone just used your name and just teed off minutes ago. The group in front of us was a dad, mom, and two teenagers in two carts playing with only two sets of clubs. Isn’t everyone supposed to have their own clubs??? They were all sharing the clubs until their cart broke down at hole number 10. There was too long of a wait at each tee box and this should not have happened during a week day when it is less busy.
