Genreal Old Course--old fairways yes
Tee boxes a little over grown.
Greens soft and roll smooth.
Keep ball in the fairway or you will be hitting out of the dirt and/or gopher holes.
Tee'd off at 7:00 and was done by 10:45. pretty empty for a Sunday. Not sure if this is normal or not. Would play again, but course needs some water and sod for the rough/dirt.
Staff were great, that’s about it
The first hole mislead us that it would be a great deal for the $. With the exception of the duo in front picking up my ball (had a personalized stamp on it) that was in the fairway, it was pretty good. The green was nice and the hole played decent. That all changed the second hole, it was like putting braille. The ball literally jumped around so much trying putt. This course is deceiving with the tree lined fairways. They are a challenge. But if you or anyone with you puts it near or other side of a tree off the fairway, it’s lost. The gopher holes were everywhere. Front 9, the cart died. It had some sort of electrical problem but it started working again. Back 9 the cart died hole 12 I think. Had to call and get a cart brought out. The worker had to push the cart off the course and couldn’t get it running. The last thing I’ll say about the course was the sprinklers. The groundskeepers ran hoses across the fairways stopping balls from rolling. Not great. And sometimes the sprinklers were on tee boxes and approaches where there would be heavy ball drop. The positive was the staff. They were great. Should be a $30 course
Good course to practice your swing
First time playing. Played from white tees. Lots of holes seem quite similar to each other. Seems like I hit 5 iron on three par threes, for example. Lots of 370 yard par fours. Fairways greens, and tee boxes in decent shape. Go off the fairway though and you are in dirt. Hundreds of ground squirrels running around. One coyote walked along with me for a couple of holes. Played in 3.5 hours. Pretty flat. Good value.
Great Memorial Day Course Play!
The course was a lot nicer and cleaner this time around with a better rate of play and easier way to get food by the time we get to the end of the 9th hole.
Good value
I had low expectations based on a visit last year. Was pleasantly surprised. Green in very good shape. Fairways were in reasonable shape with a lot of roll. Rough along fairways was dirt with little grass and a lot of gopher holes. If you missed the fairway the ball ran a lot. Traps and collars around green in good shape. Cart paths a mixture of dirt and broken concrete. Good value for the price but don’t expect Country Club conditions.
General Old
Just played Gen Old for the first time since November and the course is in great condition. The fairways are green and gives the ball a great lie. The greens are a little fast and have some deceiving breaks. Overall I had a great time with plenty of challenges while maintaining the fun of the game.
Beware of Extreme Rough
This was my first time playing here. Overall, the course was good. The rough was a bit extreme and slowed pace of play a lot.
