Golfer Reviews
Course review
Course was very fair, senior player here. Traps needed a little attention, but overall I would rate my experience a 9. Was 97 degrees but still a good experience.
Slow greens, water in bunkers
The Jones course is a nice layout in decent shape but not to the regular standards. The greens have mostly recovered from sterilization but were really slow. Many bunkers were washed out and had standing water in them. THE WORST PART OF THIS GOLF EXPERIENCE WAS THAT THERE WAS NOT A BEVERAGE CART, THE RESTROOM HAD THE DRINKING FOUNTAIN REMOVED, AND THE WATER COOLER STAND HAD NO WATER COOLER, NOT EMPTY COOLER, NO COOLER AND IT WAS AN EXTREMELY HOT DAY!
Little things
The Sandtraps rarely had enough rakes; if people usually ride in carts just put a rake on the cart;
Sand traps were rarely rakes by people — I’m guessing from lack of enough rakes ; and the traps weren’t groomed at beginning of the day. The auto mowers are nice but they don’t get out of the way when people are hitting to the green like a person would. There should be an option to turn OFF the volume on golf carts so it doesn’t Ding all the time.
Outstanding
Played the Jones course today while in Florida on vacation. An absolutely acceptable golf course. The staff were very friendly and always respectful while I was there. Hands down the nicest course I’ve ever played. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area for sure.👍🏼
Fun, Engaging Tracks in Good Condition
Played a fantastic round on a course in impressive condition, featuring a fun, engaging layout that kept things exciting from the first tee to the final putt. Securing a "Hot Deal" rate made the experience even better, offering incredible value for a well-maintained course with pristine fairways and smooth greens.
LPGA with my life long Buddy
We really enjoy the LPGA, it’s challenging but not overly difficult. Enjoyed it.
best part was Rhonda at the snack bar
Most of the employees seemed disinterested that they had customers. But Rhonda was great. Sorry that I have to mention the snack bar, but that was the best part of our experience.
Not great.
The course sounded like a fun place to play a top level course. I expected to get my butt kicked some but it wasn’t anything more then a muni with houses around it. They let this course go. Green slow. The sand wasn’t sand thus could be such a nice place if they took care of it.
Terrible staff members
They don’t know anything about guest relations, they are rude and unprofessional. Last time coming here.
Mostly good. Strange bad.
Start up with the good. I’ve always loved this course and it was in very good shape, tee to Green with no exceptions that I can remember. Staff was friendly. .
As for the bad - for a course charging up to $90 at peak times, they had no scorecards and no ice or water available (unless you went into the restaurant away from the course). I think we saw a cart girl once. Still can’t believe no scorecards. They could have at least printed up some temporary ones on paper.
Very good course but lacks the subtleties of Hills Course
I played this course by myself and had two groups wave me through (very kind). Course was in good shape and very reasonably priced (bought as a GolfNow special). Many holes were similar, straight par 4’s with bunkering but fairways were wide enough that bunkers were easily handled. I prefer the Hills course because of it’s subtleties and somewhat unique layout, but with course is very good.
No too Shabby!
First time playing the course and it was in excellent condition. Beautiful layout, wide fairways and greens were excellent. The pro shop welcomed me and gave me the rundown on the course.
HOWEVER! He never said anything about paying for range balls and to get range balls out of the machine, you had to purchase a code in the pro shop which was across the street. This was 1/2 my fault since I figured he didn't say anything and I paid over $100 during the off season to play.
Also, their was plenty of wildlife on the course which was really cool to see. HOWEVER, it was very disheartening to see empty nip bottles, beer cans and other trash lining the tree lines and especially over the edge of the tree canopy bridges. It really did take away from the esthetics of the drive.
The staff was really friendly and the cart girl was amazing! LOL.
I would totally come back on my next visit. But just like to see a few small things done.
Include in holf trip
Always include a round in my golf trips to the Daytona Beach srea.
Course is always in great shape.
No Water.. Starter Issues
Course is in great condition. Greens fast. It was a good day till we got to the back 9. Starter puts out a slow twosome off the back and it slowed the round down. There is no water jugs on the course, but they be happy to sell you a $3 bottle of water. Most of the day was good.
