Solo golfers, 1st visit

Good 18 hole course, a few steep hills, which I didn't mind. Good course layout, greens in good condition. Don't have any complaints. I went around myself, took your average 3hrs. I would definitely go back.

Pace of play shockingly bad

Pace of play is shocking. 2 hours to play 9 holes. 2 groups of 4 and group of 3 holding up a 2 ball.

Fair

Course was short, and didn't take too well to recent weather. Course was mix with some ok holes and others poor as conditions heavy / waterlogged at stages underfoot however the price was extremely good value for money.

AVOID. Terrible Course Conditions

AVOID! Course was in terrible condition. Severe lack of investment by David Lloyd

its a bog. not enough drainage and not much work put in over winter.

Tee Boxes poorly maintained

Poorly maintained bunkers with no rakes

dogs running free on the course

Greens not been cored and sanded. Bike Tyre marks on the greens.

Shocking condition

Have played the course countless times and never seen it this bad. Clearly very little maintenance over the winter. The greens, notably, were a mud bath in places. David Lloyd reception mentioned staff shortages. It shows. Won't be back for some time.

After the rain

Due to the previous 3 days of rain the course was in good condition. The greenkeepers really try and keep course up to scratch.

Cheap and cheerful.

Played Roukie a few time, always value for money. Basic but pretty well looked after generally. My only gripe is there seems to be far too many walk on non paying players and far too many dog walkers cutting about.

The course was closed but allowed to play

Upon arrival there was a sign saying course closed, then I went to the pro shop and was allowed to play. The course was a complete bog and I nearly fell over then walked off after 9 holes. Feel like I shouldn’t have been charged for the game as the course was technically ‘closed’. It’s not the courses fault as it was raining the day before but it shouldn’t have been available to book and I feel like I should get refunded for the game.

Lost Faith

I have been playing this course for many years. Stopped for a lot of years due to work. Retired in February, so getting back into the golf. I enjoy Roukenglen, but my faith in the gentleman's game. Left my golf umbrella down, went back to look for it. 3 ball behind us asked if they had seen it, no. What is the chances of two Under Armour with lime green shaft being, the next but one back.
