Great Views
Hard first few holes uphill and then levels out. Punishing if you cant hit straight. Great views and good layout
Fereneze golf club
2nd time I've played this course when own course was closed due to bad weather first couple of holes are steep incline but after that it levels out has some lovely views the further in you get would highly recommend
Nice course
I had read the first holes were up-hill. They are but so are many others. Suggest you bring an electric trolley as I did or hire a buggy. This is an interesting test of golf, with quite a few blind shots from tees, but there are good poles to help. Watch out for the burns in front of a number of greens, not necessarily obvious from back down the fairway. Good signage to next tee. A course to be enjoyed by golfers of all handicaps. Not a very long course, although the par 5s played very long the day I was there, but there are par3s to compensate. Greens had been tined and sanded but that happens this time of year. Tees a little bare, but not enough to be a major issue. The price was superb. Good pace of play. I was let through by visiting parties, though the last few holes were a little slower. The last hole in particular makes you feel great with a good drive back downhill towards the clubhouse, but note the fairway flattens just before the green, so take enough club for second shots to make it on to the green. I played on a nice sunny, not very windy day. I think it could be a different experience if conditions were less agreeable pleasant. Hope to come back again soon.
Wet
Rained throughout but hilly and challenging. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Fabulous course
The first 3 holes are a test for the best of us. The 2nd par 3 is a picture you'll never forget once you up there it levels out and the views are fabulous. the course was in fantastic condition and staff were very friendly. Great value for money and highly recommended
Great hospitality and course.
Warmly welcomed, course in great condition, food tasty. Earlier outing played extremely slowly so only played 14 holes.
Great course
Would be the best course in the area if the cut back the deep rough, enjoyed the course and in great condition. We lost 14 ball between us and played quite well but course is ridiculous punishing. Silly would join but can't afford cost in balls.
Great condition . Views are stunning nice layout although wouldn’t like to play windy and rainy day
Windy Friday Round
Played a last minute round with my brother here on Friday. Had played the course once before but really heavy rain that day slightly ruined it, so was really looking forward to playing here again.
The staff in the pro shop were friendly and there was a small putting area and a practice net at the start.
The course was in great conditions, smooth fairways and immaculate greens.
The rough was brutal so you had to be very accurate off the tee. The course is abit hilly so be prepared for that.
Would recommend this course to anyone. Think you'd struggle to find a better course for the £15 each that we paid.
Will definitely be back & hopefully shoot abit lower next time.
Challenging course, stunning views - friendly staff and members
First time at this club, booked via the hot deals time - so excellent value for for money from Ferenze and Golf Now.
Was running a bit late so missed the tee time by a few minutes, the professional was very friendly and allowed me to play on. Great first impression.
The course is hilly for the first 4 holes, so be prepared for a hike!! Once I got my breath back on 6th, was blown away with the views across the Clyde valley - caught a clear day so could see all the way to Ben Ledi. There is a cairn on the 10th tee that has a panoramic 360 degree marker pointing out all the mountains in the view. The friendly groundsman at the tee also pointed out a few other sights.
The course is beautiful, and well cared for. Challenging for many low handicap golfers as well - you really need to hit straight and follow the lines marked by the fairway markers on hidden tee shots.
Having just taken the sport back up after a very long hiatus, I was struggling with the pace mid round. Allowed a few members to play through - they were very friendly and gave me a few local tips on the holes I was playing.
I will be back, really enjoyed it and would recommend to friends.
Warm welcome
Very friendly staff course in excellent condition very well laid out course the views over Glasgow are outstanding would highly recommend
Hills
Lovely course however I got lost a couple of times. The 1st was heading for the 4th. I was going left of the green but the grass said go right, no sign and I went up hill to the 4th green, only to meet the guy in front of me heading towards me. The other was due to a guy behind me on the 10th, instead of skipping 1 in front of me, he headed for the 13th, where I went, but found my way to the 11th myself. Very hilly this course so don’t attempt if its not your thing. Otherwise, nice afternoon and the people on the course were nice as was the staff.
Highly recommended
Thoroughly enjoyable round despite the challenges the wind presented. The course is in great order and would recommend.
Course has great views
I found this course a bit different but very enjoyable. I would say you need a reasonable level of fitness to get round as it has extreme elevations although you can hire a buggy to assist you.
The first 9 holes are generally uphill and on reaching the top of the braes there is very little shelter so best playing here when the weather is kind.
The course itself was presented in good condition fairly generous fairways and greens rolling well.
The last hole is a superb par 4 about 365 yards but with an extreme downhill gradient and definitely driveable if you have ability.
The cost of playing was also cheap at £15 and I would recommend if you are looking for something different.
