Desert Springs Resort boasts two championship courses designed by Ted Robinson, the Palms and the Valley. The golf courses are known for their beautiful setting, offering unrivaled views of the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Coachella Valley. The Valley Course is considered the less challenging of the two, but both offer a stunning landscape covered with swaying palms and blue lagoons. The course features player-friendly fairways that beginners will enjoy, but there are also a fair amount of challenges. Like on the Palms Course, there is plenty of water. Between the two golf courses, more than 35 acres of water features come into play in the form of man-made lakes and streams. In addition to the two courses, Desert Springs also offers an 18-hole putting course, which offers all the same challenges as the other courses including bunkers, water hazards, and undulating fairways.

Fast Round

High temperature over 100F keeps people indoors. I was able to play 18 holes in 2-1/2 hours. Plenty of cold water on course. Greens are in good condition. Some course maintenance underway outside peak season. Be sure to get your parking validated.

Feels like home!

Been playing this course for 25 years. Very nostalgic course for me. If you can handle the summer heat then $49 for this course is amazing! 🤩 play it multiple times a year when on vacation.

Great Value

Finally got to play the Valley side. It is more wide open and forgivable than the Palm. Course was in great shape considering it was summer. The only issue was the rough is so high (3'-4") it was hard to find the ball most of the day. Would play again! Great value

Mr. Golf 88

I have played the Desert Springs multiple times over the years and sadly the conditions were so terrible they were almost unplayable.

The greens were in the worst shape. There were dead spots and bumps everywhere. They had not been mowed or rolled in some time.

On the fringes of the greens there were several chunks of grass taken out.

The poor green conditions all lead to a awful round experience.

Beautiful course

We played The Palms course. The staff were all very friendly. The course was in great condition. Greens weren't super fast. Which can be good for your game. It's a difficult course...long with plenty of water hazards. However it's a great place to play golf.

Great resort course!

The JW Valley course is a very forgiving resort course. Staff was great and the the course was in great shape. Fairways had a lot of roll and greens were firm and fast like a good quality desert course. Pace was excellent with no waiting.

Overpriced

Above average course, but priced as a premium course. Needed marshals as pace was 4:45. Minimal service on and off course. The fairways and greens were good, but again, not at the top level. Cancelled a second round to play PGA west Norman course at same price.

Valley Course

Not an easy course, some long carries over water. Two par 3s are long and the course has some deep bunkers. Some great restaurants to eat at but they were busy due to a large convention. I plan to play the other 18 hole course next, Palm course. My handicap is 15 and my wife is 26.

JW Marriott Valley Course

I think the green fees of $239.00 is highly overpriced for what the course conditions. Is in. The green side bunkers was very hard due to over watering. Feels more like dirt rather than sand. The greens had burnt area and bumpy. However, the layout is very nice and challenging. The staffs are accommodating. The Pro Shop are smaller than most golf resorts in Palm Springs/Deserts area.

Palm Sunday

Very enjoyable track. Straight forward, Great par threes.

Lucky enough to play as a twosome…maybe because it was Palm Sunday?

Greens were a bit sticky/slower than the course we played before.

Would definitely play there again, perhaps the other course..or both.

Course was in great condition but very hot and not much shade. Greens were hard to figure out with the Bermuda creeping in. Staff were great . Some challenging hole The final hole was beautiful
