Great afternoon at the Grove Porthcawl
Tee time we had was 12.35. Pace started well but slowed down after around the 3rd hole . I’m quite sure the 4 boys in front had not played there before and were struggling But we were not in any rush it gave us time to catch up as we all work together and are members at different courses so used the game as an away day .. There was a member of staff who came around in a buggy with drinks , he did speak to the boys up front and in all honesty they did speed up We were just aware of people behind us. Anyway at the end of the day we all had a good game and drinks afterwards. Will definitely will be booking again..

Sunny Friday Golf after work
Had a 5pm T time on a sunny Friday staff ver nice, course was great condition and I enjoyed my round of golf. Looking forward to the next time.
Course
Nice course some of the greens look like they have a bit of disease still run ok some tees where a bit of a walk from the greens hole 13 is superb
Excellent day at great price
Booked this in advance and for the 2 days before and on the morning of the round the weather was awful, it brightened up just prior to tee off time and stayed nice for the round, considering the recent weather the course was in fantastic condition and we had a great round. Staff beforehand and in clubhouse after were excellent. Great day of golf for just 22 quid...... will definitely play here again and would recommend to others
Fast but true greens
Course in excellent condition. Greens played fast but true making a good test for all levels.
Staff were all very pleasant as usual.

Good course excellent value
The course was busy so play a little slow but conditions were excellent. Greens medium fast. We were very surprised that the clubhouse was closed afterwards.
Excellent experience!
The Grove is a true gem and overall it was an excellent experience and we will definitely go back for more rounds in the future.
That being said .....for any 2 ball using the app you will most likely be paired with another pair and as your skill set may not be aligned you may like or hate the experience.
Wet and hole closures
Unfortunately the course was very wet and requires some TLC. Recent weather hasn't helped this but cut tee boxes or winter tee mats would help.
We weren't notified before the round by the pro shop that
3 holes were closed and a par 4 was shortened to a par 3.
The cost of the round probably justified this but prior notice before starting the round would of softened the blow.
Part of our group were two ex members of the Grove and we wouldn't consider rejoining after our most recent round.

Great day at the Grove, we had a friendly welcome in the pro shop and the course was in great condition. Will be returning soon!
