Well worth a visit
Friendly staff and players.
An interesting corse that provides challenges.
A more technical hilly front 9 followed by a back 9 requiring accuracy and distance. Course was picturesque and in excellent condition. Great value for money
Challenging and interesting
A friendly and challenging course.
Great course with friendly members
Enjoyed the course. Met many friendly members. Will definitely return.
Great course, great people
First time playing here. Enjoyed the course. Met many helpful and friendly members. Definitely be back.
Lovely day out
Staff were super friendly even called me up prior to playing to inform me they were dressing the greens so the course wasn't to their standards. I thought the course was in good nick considering the call in the morning. They even gave me a voucher for another round, as an apology. 100% would play there again lovely course & staff
Great course, front 6 are a highlight
Returning golfer after many years away and this was my second round at the club. Lovely course, front 6 are challenging and built around a steep valley and also an old walled garden (?).
Rest of the course then opens up into a more parkland open style.
Team of staff are very friendly and helpful and clearly doing a great job as the course is still in good condition even with the Long dry spell we'd had.
Members were friendly and helpful.
Pace of play a big issue
I booked a tee time as a single golfer and have played the course before.
The overall conditions and greens in particular are excellent.
Good practice facilities.
The first 6 holes are comfortably the best. In fact I would suggest that once you have reached the 10th hole, everything become a little bland, pretty straight away holes without much feature which is a shame as the early part of the course is great.
The real issue was that I booked a tee time that was pretty open and the course was clear up to the 12th. I played pretty well but didn't run, yet I caught a series of 4 balls all queued up on the teebox due to a ladies pink competition that was holding up the whole course.
The irony was that on the 18th fairway my ball rested next to an actual real life tortoise, fitting given the dreadfully slow play that had all but grinded my round to a halt.
Review
Well kept challenging course. Some crossover holes but generally enjoyable. Fairways narrow but well cut, plenty of trees to hit.
Very good course especially for the price
Had a great time here only thing I marked down was the pace of play as there seemed to be a lot of choke points where play could get held up. Outside that greens were really well kept and can't say enough good things. If you're in the area definitely worth the time to play
Immaculate challenging course
The course was immaculate, only complaint would be that navigating the course was tough having not played there before… could do with more “to next tee” signs!
Very challenging for a high handicapper like myself but thoroughly enjoyed the course and will be back.
Good day but
First time playing this course me and a friend who is new to golf, course was great overall some hills, fast greens good big opens fairways. Only negative is man behind us started to mouth of at my friend telling him to play one ball when he was I tried to explain that his new and not the best. And we where still two holes in front of them but it people like that, that stops newbies from joing the game ( they where member of the club as well so they should know better )
Lovely course friendly staff
Great golf course, well looked after and staff were friendly.
Coed Y Mwstwr Marvel
We decided to give Coed Y Mwstwr a try after a couple of recommendations from friends.
It's a delightful course about 750 metres through the country lanes from Llangrallo (Coychurch.)
The course is beautifully presented and was extremely well maintained with stunning fairways, sand filled bunkers and great greens considering we're still in spring.
The views are great and it's difficult to believe the course is just a couple of kilometres from the M4 at Pencoed. I used Junction 35 to get here.
There are some great holes and I loved the par threes which are all a little bit different.
Staff and members were very friendly and most welcoming.
The breakfast baguettes were delicious.
So pay Coed Y Mwstwr a visit. You won't be disappointed and you'll have a great time.
Course in good condition shame still using mats !
I’ve played at Coed y Mystwr on a number of occasions with my friends with handicaps of 8,15,20.
We find the course interesting and a good challenge.
The staff are always welcoming and helpful.
On this occasion the course was again in good condition.
Sadly we were disappointed that they were still using winter mats which on occasions were not in good condition. Also as a left hander my side of the mat wasn’t good.
Also as visitors I’m still surprised they don’t cater for food on a Wednesday.
The above won’t deter us from retuning.
