Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Good course, greens have a lot of room to improve
Overall good course.
- Golf Now always plays switch and bait with price on hot deals. Always
- course is ok
- greens are actually quite bad, bumpy and very inconsistent hole to hole.
Overall, decent! 7/10 rating
No cart Girl/Guy-
No range to loosen up-
Layout was really fun-
There was a 5 man ahead of us and a drunk 4 man ahead of them, not sure who was holding up who but it did create some waiting around!
Regardless of the above mention, if the greens were just a little better I’d say 8/10+ to a 9-
Granted Florida is in a drought so other than the greens it was fun!
Great shape for no rain
They are doing an amazing job keeping up the coarse a couple of fairways can use some leveling but the greens are beautiful 💯
Great condition
Course was in really good condition. From teebox to green is all grass. Fairways were exceptional for this time of year in a drought. Fun course to play. Restaurant/bar and staff excellent. Will be playing here more often.
Condition
This course is in great condition considering the current drought. Better than any of the surrounding areas courses.
Scotland Yard.
Great course for the price! Wide open and easy to access. Great bar vibe..
This course was a bit of a challenge, I am a beginner but my husband liked it. We lost a few balls but we played late and it was hard to see. Other golfers friendly as well and patient.
Excellent course
The greens and tee boxes were in top shape. Had to wait on a few holes because the course had a frost delay.
Good Bang for the Buck
Been playing this course regularly(8x a year) for the last several years. Staff is always very friendly and inviting, course is always in pretty good shape and greens are always tricky, especially with some of the pin placements on the front the last couple of weeks. Best thing is the course always stays affordable and true to who they are, a public golf course. Many of the courses in the Tampa Bay Area are quite delusional of what heir course is with some of the rates they are charging this time of year but you can always play this course which is much better than the the ones I speak of. Will continue to be a regular in my weekly rotation.
Scotland Yard is Great!!
You will be glad you went to play a round there! Greens were GREEN. Healthy course. The locals were gentlemen and very welcoming. Staff were all polite and helpful!
Not so friendly
The old man at the front was very rude when I asked for a rain check. It rained very heavy, and the course was not playable. Since I reserved online, he very rudely said there’s nothing he can do and cut me short as I was trying to ask for my other voucher or anything. Course seemed to be nice, but definitely not coming back. I’d rather go to other courses nearby that have friendlier staff. It takes less effort to be friendly than it does to be a rude old man.
Lack of notification and pace.........
This is by no means intended to discourage folks from playing this course. I play here 5-10 times a year, and will be back. I also want to point out that the staff is always friendly. What that being said, no one informed us the greens had been punched OR that a number of holes on the front 9 had standing water. There was so much water that the first hole had a pump running to clear water out of the pond to allow the fairway to drain. Another hole was so flooded that they had OB markers out into the fairway. Additionally, many of the greens hadn't been completely sanded which only enhanced the irregular roll while putting. Not the end of the world, it's decent place to play for the money but it's always disappointing when courses aren't up front with conditions. Then there is the pace of play, it is "average" which doesn't say much over the last 5 years. This course does what many others do, the starter verifies who you are and that you paid but there is zero management of tee times. The starters need to push folks to get off the tee on time and hold the next group until their time. Then have the ranger watching to ensure people are playing at an acceptable pace. I'm here to enjoy the game like everyone else but when my 11 year old is asking what grown adults are doing and why they are taking so long there is a problem. The only way to correct this is to have the courses hold folks accountable. Yes, we can help with our group but I would rather not have to police others, and I don't because frankly it is not my course.
Nice layout. Tiny greens
The staff at the course was great. The course layout was nice. Overall, the course was in good condition, although it was aerated and not mentioned until we got on the green. I highly recommend the Philly cheesesteak in the bar and Grill. Would definitely play again.
Golfnow is responsible for refund ,not golf course. U need to read gn rules.
