Silverado Golf & Country Club

About
Silverado Golf & Country Club is situated just north of Tampa in scenic Zephyrhills. It is a par-71 layout but for low handicappers, it can be extended to a par 72 by turning the lengthy 10th hole into a challenging par 4. The area's natural beauty is defined by the mature oaks that date back over 100 years and the abundant wildlife, including red tail hawks, geese, and foxes. The landscape provides an excellent round of golf, which is further enhanced by the year-round temperate climate. Bunkers treacherously lurk throughout and the occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course offers some challenging holes but overall, it is approachable for a range of skill levels. Silverado finishes with a par 4 that requires a difficult carry in order to make it past the pond in the middle of the fairway. Those who strategize carefully will be rewarded with a birdie.

OK Course
Played on Memorial Day Holiday, so pace was a little slower than usual. Greens were iffy in spots. NO WATER ON COURSE!
1st Timer
Course in decent shape. We roll the ball over in the fairways. anyway. A # of doglegs right on the back nine. Good hot $30 deal.
Rain has brought course to life Got off on time and pace of play
Nice little place
First time playing and it was a pleasant surprise. Nice green fairways, tee boxes in good shape except for a couple. Greens were decent, but a bit bumpy.. they are also quite narrow, reduced in size to ave money on maintenance I would guess.
The layout is nice with several interesting holes. The price is right. The staff friendly. Worth the drive to play.
Great course!
Great course with definite challenges with somewhat narrow fairways. Great for work on your short game. Staff was great and restaurant staff was so friendly and polite. Will visit here again.
Silverado
My wife and I play here often as it’s one of our favorites. Staff members are always friendly and helpful. We really like the course layout and it’s always been in good shape. Silverado gets very busy when folks are down for the winter but when they return things slow down some and the pace is much better. Again it’s one of our favorites and we can usually get a great “hot deal” on GolNow. I highly recommend this course.
I played that just about every week makes Bernadette look like they forgot to hire a greenskeeper. Keep up the good work.
Amazing
This course gets better each week. This week we started on the back 9 due to the green being air rated. They were pretty fast. The front 9 they were good but slower. In another week they will be all good. The only problem I see is the tee areas need work not much grass. Other than that the course is really good.
Good value for money
Being a little ways outside of Tampa (~45 minutes or so), this course is a little cheaper than comparable courses you would play closer to Tampa. The course was generally in very good condition for what you were paying for.
Downsides included essentially no cart paths, not enough signage (we got lost a few times trying to figure out which hole we were supposed to go to), and lack of a real driving range or short game area (they have a "practice area", but many of your clubs will be too long to hit there).
Upsides include fairways, greens, and tee boxes is good shape. Course is pretty easy while not feeling boring. Pace of play was quite reasonable (4.25 hours) for the way they had the tee times staggered (every 7 minutes).
We would be back.
NEVER ON SUNDAY!
I have probably played here 50 times. It's a nice, simple golf course where there are few places to lose a golf ball. However on Sunday they have a scramble tournament in which they allowed multiple groups of FIVESOMES. Thisi s a short course which should never take more than 4 hours to play. This time it took 5 hours. We even called for a ranger regarding the fivesomes and they did NOTHING. They knew about and allowed the fivesomed. I will never be back on a Sunday. You shouldn't either. What legitimate golf course allows fivesomes, especially on the weekend? NONE.
