Silverado Golf & Country Club

About
Silverado Golf & Country Club is situated just north of Tampa in scenic Zephyrhills. It is a par-71 layout but for low handicappers, it can be extended to a par 72 by turning the lengthy 10th hole into a challenging par 4. The area's natural beauty is defined by the mature oaks that date back over 100 years and the abundant wildlife, including red tail hawks, geese, and foxes. The landscape provides an excellent round of golf, which is further enhanced by the year-round temperate climate. Bunkers treacherously lurk throughout and the occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course offers some challenging holes but overall, it is approachable for a range of skill levels. Silverado finishes with a par 4 that requires a difficult carry in order to make it past the pond in the middle of the fairway. Those who strategize carefully will be rewarded with a birdie.

Good value for good golf
Hands down it’s the best deal in Zephyrhills for golf. Course is in mostly good shape especially considering this was 7 days post tropical storm/hurricane Debbie. Decent track as far as difficulty is concerned, only a few water hazards but some well placed bunkers that can get you into trouble. Finished my 18 in just over 3 hours (8:22 tee time) and was back home by noon. Wish their driving range was a little bigger cause it can get cramped in the morning warming up. Overall a great value
Nice Morning Round
Course is in good condition. Tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens were in very good condition. Bunkers either had water standing in them or tire tracks in them. Not many people on the course and I got through in 3 hours. I recommend this course.
review
Silverado was in pretty good condition especially since it rained the night before....the greens were fast and the fairways while wet and spongy were nice and wide and didn't include too many sand traps or water hazards...overall a fun course, but still a challenging one......worth the trip from the Port Richey area....
review
Haven't played Silverado since last Summer and enjoyed ourselves today...although it was a bit wet during the first nine....gradually the sun appeared and helped to dry out the course.....lost a couple of balls in water filled sand traps, but otherwise, the course was in great condition...nice firm greens and manicured fairways......broke 100 from the Gold tees which is good for me.....worth the drive from the Port Richey area.....
Good weekday golf experience
Very nice person in golf shop sent me out as a single. Nice lady in front of me let me play through on first hole. Next 4 or 5 holes no one in front. Around 8th hole a foursome let me play through. Overall took 3 hours to play 18 holes which is excellent.
Greens were definitely slower than I'm used to and had at least 2 or 3 putts stop between 1-5" from hole. Putts were on line but the ground was very wet. Likewise on fairways, very little bounce.
You need to really drive well on this course as even the holes that down slope don't get any roll.
Par 5's on white tees more than 500 yards. Fairly wide fairways but rough is very rough and forget about finding balls that go off to sides as grass is as high as your knees.
It's OK but usually slow mornings, overbooked.
The starter needs to get on a mower rather than harass players.
Always fun
I have played this course several times in the last few years. It always seems to be in great shape, with nice tee boxes, grass in the fairways, and true but slow-rolling greens. The only issue I ever had was when the some of cart paths ended they turned into rough dirt trails, but they had been addressing the issue and it made the trip around their course much more bearable. Now if they would only put some water out on the course for the players..
Great course
Definitely recommend playing here for the price. The course was easy playing from the gold tees. I had plently of chances of getting birdies/pars for a player who has a 30+ handicap. Be ready to drive without cart paths as the course does not have one throughout the course.
Glacial Pace
We were on pace for a 5.5+ hr round. Had to quit after 5 holes.
I'm Spoiled
I have been used to playing on a lush course with concrete cart path and a well marked course. This course is a notch down, but very playable and fun. We got lost twice, but not for long. The greens were a bit rough as we're the practice greens. The driving range is well laid out.
Well Maintained and Fun to Play
This is my local golf course and I love playing here. Some might feel the pace is fast though. Good driving range, restaurant and pro shop.
Great for the price
Well conditioned course, 18 holes at twilight is well worth the money.
