Brentwood Golf Club - Hillside/Diablo Course

Due to a family rare occasion get-together on Sunday, I called and the staff at the course honored my Gold Pass coupon for Monday at noon from yesterday's registration. It turned out to be fortunate as the weather was iffy for rain all day. Maybe due to the weather conditions, I was alone in my golf cart with no one less that three holes in front of me nor behind me all day. I took my time and occasionally hit a second shot after missing one.

Haven't played in a while since conditions last time were very bad. Got a good deal, decided to give it another chance.

On positive side the greens are very good and there is enough green to roll ball to on fairways. Tee boxes mostly reasonable.

Otherwise, bunkers are unplayable, fairways some places too wet some too dry. Ground squirrels have taken over. General conditions of the entire complex going down hill.

We played winter rules, rolled ball, raked bunkers and placed ball.

It too bad this place is being neglected, its a very good track, wish it could be brought back to its hey day.

It's a decent price. It's super close for me. The greens were ok. The fairways are chewed up. The bunkers are dirt with little rocks and pebbles and flies swarming in areas. NO SAND.

2.5 - 3 STARS.

Nice layout greens are rolling well some of the fairways can use some TLC but so do most of the courses in the Bay Area and I like to say that the bathrooms are clean

That is an important part of being there when you need it

Brentwood has always had a fun layout but it’s in rough shape. It’s been about a year since I’ve played here but it’s definitely worse than it was before. Tons of craters/dead spots all over the course with weeds and a ton of dirt outside the fairway. There are random puddles/mud in curtain spots. Nice staff and pace of play for a weekend round but I’d probably pay $10-20 more to have playable lies. Bunkers are all rocks and dirt.

It was okay to play except people's playing here don't know to fix their ball divots other than it was okay.

Just 6 months ago I would have questioned why I played here, but I've played 3x in the past 6 weeks. Fairways are in good shape. Greens are ok for a basic muni course. Bunkers are bad so avoid them. The course is worth playing and it slowly getting back to it's pre-Covid conditions.

The tee pads look like someone had been using it to hit irons several divots. Sand traps were not maintained some no rakes. Their GPS had been turned off so our range finders would not work.

The course is not i the best shape. But it's cheaper than most and it's close to my house.

I will playing there again.

They put out a 3sum.. another 3sum.. a single.. then a 2sum.. then another 2sum..

Needles to say we were all waiting and our games sucked.. the pro shop doesn't even try to get groups properly spaced.. horrible on weekday afternoons.
