About
Shadow Lakes Golf Club sprawls across rolling hills with Mount Diablo looming in the background. Dramatic elevation changes characterize the course, providing both challenges and scenic views of the East Bay Area. The undulations of the terrain range from subtle to dramatic and helped to determine the strategic placement of the sharply sculpted bunkers, of which there are many. The design of the golf course blends seamlessly with the existing landscape with swaths of native grasses outlining each hole and natural rocky outcroppings coming into play throughout. The course incorporates links-style characteristics as well as a variety of different challenges including water hazards and deep rough. One particularly memorable water hole is the par-4 16th. This is Shadow Lakes Golf Club's signature hole that features an island green that slopes in front, back into the water.

10/10 Vibes
This course is probably one of the best courses in the area for its value. Conditions are great, holes are challenging, but still super fun. Wide fairways with greens that roll true, not to mention the amazing views as you keep moving through the course. Went on an early Saturday afternoon and we never waited to tee off or had people running up behind us, will definitely be returning soon.
Needs some attention
For the price on a weekday play, I find the course a bit neglected. two days in a row no water in the ball washers. I guess that's why they also don't have a drying towel hanging there as well. Course maintenence crews seem to think they have the right of way and players just need to wait to hit.
Great course for value
Overall love the course. Greens run true and fast. Challenging layout when u have to hit certain yardage etc. Overall very pleased.
BMW, the ultimate driving machine
This is a very nice course.
A bit challenging for a beginner though
With all the water hazards. Now that I have
Played it, I look forward to the challenges
next time.
Highly recommend!
First time playing the course. Best greens I've seen from a muni in Northern California. They run smooth. Course is in good condition with a lot of tight lies. I paid $78 for Sat round and it was good value for the money. I have already recommend to my friend to play with me next time. I was pleasantly surprised. Not much as far as snack bars and all that stuff, but if you like interesting golf this is a good place to come.
