The Bridges Golf Club

TLDR: 5.5hr round. Yes, 5 1/2 hours! Finishing on the heels of the slow pokes ahead of us. The cart said we were behind but no one actively made a change.

Marshalls came by a few times, nipping the 3hr from 9 to a 2.5hr back 9, I guess that’s success ??

Cart staff only accepts cash - who carries $100s in cash? Your POS doesn’t work?

The play was extremely slow with no marshal to control the pace. After 5 hours, we quit at hole 14. I won’t be coming back to Bridges for a while.

This is an excellent, fair, but completely unforgiving course for those that can’t hit it straight or in the fairway.

Length is not what you need here. Accuracy is paramount.

Very few flat lies, even in the fairway, and challenging greens.

Be ready to test yourself at The Bridges.

Fun & challenging course. No room for error on most holes if you tend to fade your drive. Fairways in great condition & greens run fast with deceiving breaks. Country club feels at the end of your round when staff clean your clubs. I don’t remember a cart girl/woman coming by but I may be wrong.

Not sure how they do it in that dry, hot climate, but they do a great job both on the fairways and on the putting greens. Very well maintained course, and always a delight to play!

I read several scathing reviews just before playing The Bridges, after playing I think people should have to include their index when posting course reviews. Mine is 15.

This course was very punishing to bad shots and very rewarding to good shots. If you can’t hit a good shot over a 175yard carry, then maybe layup and hit the shot you can hit. In other words, The Bridges requires you to think a little bit more about risk v reward.
