About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Golfer Reviews
Great course conditions!
Mount Dora Golf Club course is in great conditions right now. The greens, T-boxes, and fairways are impecable, despite the lot of raining days in this area. The staff is very serviceable and friendly as always. Will play again next week.
Great Value
Course always delivers in terms of value. Its not the longest or most difficult course around. Greens are solid usually on the slower side but they are full no sand or dead areas. Fairways are full no bare spots always worth the money to play here.
GIR
At first look this course may seem boring but tight greens narrow fairways and thick rough equals a lot of risk vs reward despite being a shorter course. The par 5’s are tough with elevation changes. Really enjoyed it. Fairways and greens were great especially considering the current heat index. The greens are the size of a dispersion rate of most low handicap golfers. If you have a High percentage GIR your doing something here
Always a good time
Play numerous times a year. Always in great shape. Latest round no different. Only wish they had real t-boxes for the yellow tees rather than a stone in the fairway. Not a deal breaker for my wife, but it would be nice.
Don't Sleep on Mt. Dora
Totally worth the money. Nice greens and fairways. Do not sleep on this gem in Central Florida for the price. Staff was amazing. The rough is rough and you will have to be on top of your ball to find it. Sand traps were wet and dense. Must be able to pick sandtrap shots. Course is tight, you will hear "four" being yelled
Great Golf and Location for a DEAL
Always nice to golf in paradise with pretty good course conditions- some patches and holes but super competitive greens and good layout- staff are kind and other players as well
Definitely, my group's GoTo
When i am looking for a round of golf to play at a course I have not played in a while, I and my guys always pick Mount Dora. Chris the starter/bartender/ greens keeper always has sage advice before we tee off. Mount Dora is a nice course and you will end up using every club in your bag. Keep an eye on your ball because the rough will swallow it whole. I'll let you find out yourself about the greens. What a great day!!
Conditions
We love playing here. We just wish we had known the greens were airated and sanded before we purchased the passes. Also, the ruff from the fairways over were so high we spent way to much time looking for our balls. This is not normally an issue but it maybe due too the amount of rain they may have gotten. It is a very fun course to play when conditions are good. I'd give it about two or more weeks as the greens were near impossible to putt.
Greens a little slow but course in very good condition and hilly terrain keeps golfer aware if uneven lies- a good challenge!
Hilly terrain keeps golfer aware of uneven lies a good challenge .
Great condition
We were able to play as a threesome and get around in three hours uninterrupted due to pending showers that never materialized. The only criticism of the course is the Granger slow other than that they are true and the course is in excellent condition.
Wife and I
Fun day, I would play again. Friendly staff. Fairly good shape. I would rank this course 6.8 out of 10 on the bar stool pizza scale. One bite everyone knows the rules.
