About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Great Greens
We play here about once a month in our rotation of courses. We were impressed with the greens and over all conditions of the course. We had a gentleman join my wife and I and he as well had nothing but good comments on the course. We will definately keep this course in our rotation.
Good Round
Fast play for the first nine and then it slowed down dramatically, pretty typical for weekend. Greens are in nice shape but the course/fairways are .really dry.Still great value for the price
Slow
Always slow even when nearly empty you run into a couple of groups, senior ladies league, that move at a snails pace. Won't let you play through, to go around you have to skip 2 or3 holes.

Typical weekend, got lucky and first nine went really fast.
Second nine really slow...greens and fairways are in good shape for being so dry

Sunday afternoon, what can you say, went off the back nine and flew through really fast.
Front nine was brutally slow, still great value!
Best Value Around!
Course always provides excellent value to others in the area. It’s always in good condition greens usually run a bit slow but they roll true. Fairways and tee boxes can sometimes have a rough spot but for the value this course can’t be beat!
Great Find Off the Beaten Path
First of all friendliness second to none! Everybody there was polite and generous with their time and information. Met up with a twosome, which was an 86-year-old man in his 55-year-old son, and a single retired Air Force from Cincinnati Ohio.I too am from Ohio. Wonderfully challenging difficult course that brings trees and mounting into play on nearly every hole. Greens were not extremely fast but slipped enough that it could get you. Billed as “the longest 5700 yard course” they are correct as playing uphill, sidehill, and downhill has its challenges.
When do you want to get away from Orlando to the real backwoods country, and save substantial money while doing it, check it out. And too check out Eden Abby Brewery across the street for lunch and a beverage.

Could use a little water like every place in Florida.
Greens are in good shape. Very busy on weekends but pretty friendly crew.
Slow back 9
We play annually on our Fl visit. All was well until a twosome backed us up on the back 9. They weren't ahead of us on the front 9 !
