Deer Island Country Club

Greens aerated the morning we played. Were not told in the pro shop about it. Some didn’t even have sand yet , just large holes. Putting was bad. Tee boxes also very sparse; brown with thin grass; needed water badly

The only exception was the greens. Even considering the greens were just punched, they were in rough shape. Overall, the rest of the course was in great shape and I'll be back.

Love this course!

Deer Island = best course in Central Florida right now. Minus the punched greens that morning that were just sanded. Staff is amazing and the price is about spot on.

The wind off the lake makes for amazing challenges!

The course.

Driving range. A little drive to reach it but once there nice flat areas to play off with decent turf. Hitting in to the sun a little challenging but there is nothing you can do first thing in the morning.

Tees? were good no issues here, fairly flat enough grass etc.

Fairways? in good shape just a little wet in places.

Approaches? were all good no issues here.

Greens? unfortunately had just been Hollow Tined/Punched but were still ok only cost us a couple of shots each and as we all know the work has to be done at some point.

The lay out? This is the best part of the course, plenty of thought has gone in to this course layout? It’s not just a stand up and bang the big dog down the middle? This is a course that you think about your approach so try to leave a good number for yourself. This is a strong course that careful thought should be given to what tees you play off.

Playing Conditions? Today there was a bit of wind off the lake making the course play a bit like a links course.

Other players the group both in front and behind were chatty and friendly most welcoming to their home course. One of the group behind was Jim Buckle the general manager he seemed genuinely happy that we had taken time out to visit and play the course.

Pace of play for the first 9 was excellent but then about 5 groups of us got halted by one 2 ball that seem to be struggling a bit (we still enjoyed the views why we waited to play our shots)

Location? We are staying in the Disney area so this was over an hour away but it was worth ever minute we spent driving there.

Staff along with Jim they were a credit to the course and the facility all very helpful, friendly and welcoming, thanks to all of you.

Food and Beverages. All really good and very tasty and at a very reasonable price.

Will we go back? We plan to pop back next week for a second visit.

I enjoy playing this course. The price is always reasonable even on a Sunday morning. We were the 1st group out so the pace of play was great. The only negative is they need to cut the grass off the fairway. It is very thick and dense and it is difficult finding the ball. I would hit a good shot but could not find the ball and would have to take a drop. They had a lot of rain in that area and the fairways were wet and might not be able to cut some of the areas. I will always go back because the people are friendly and the price.

Very fun and exciting course. Need to maintain fairway space or you will be swimming. Greens in good shape and they are improving the infrastructure around a few.. over all can’t wait to play again. Highly recommended .

Great challenging golf course with plenty of water and bunkers. First class staff, small pro shop and great food choices. Plenty of wildlife on the course as well. Worth the 45 min drive outside Orlando!

Like most courses in the area the course had received a lot of rain. Some fairways carts were limited as to where to drive. Not a big problem. Greens were fantastic, smooth and true. Had the place to ourselves.

Worth the drive out for the price! Highly recommend

Very cool layout! Conditions were great for the price and the staff was very friendly.

Course was in good shape; some of the tee boxes were a little burned out. Course was busy, pace of play was good.

Course was in good shape. Pace of play was good and ranger seen numerous times. Staff was great . Surprise of the day clubhouse pizza was very good!
