Ocean Resorts Golf Club
About
Located just six miles west of Ocean City, Md., Ocean Resorts Golf Club is a good option if you're looking for a round that is fun to play but still a good value. The course is known for being player friendly enough for any skill level but there are still several challenges in store with multiple sets of tees that range from 4,800 to 6,500 yards. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers you'll have to contend with. The layout rewards proper club selection and good strategy but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. A unique aspect of Ocean Resorts is that it's owned by the Wor-Wic Community College.

Golfer Reviews
The back 9 is challenging
Good course for the price. The guide book they provided was helpful since first time on the course. The back nine was diffently a challenge.. Some of the greens were a little worn/burnt, but still playable .
poor condition
the course layout is fine. the condition are horrible. greens are mostly terrible the rough is not cut,and the fairways are bare or at best sparse.staff is great. should be large discount for playing conditions.
No matter how hard they try to turn this course around nothing works. Seems to be getting in worse condition every year. Wor-Wic community college is allegedly taking care of the course. They have to start doing a better job. As a side note, I've been playing this course since it opened
Shame
I play this course a couple times or more a year. The course ranges from OK shape to poor. Usually in the summer during the heat it's in poor condition, but I scheduled to play it anyway hoping that the price would reflect that the course was in better shape than it was. It should have been at least 20 bucks less. Tees and greens were in poor shape with some fairways ok. My friends I talked into playing were not happy. We have played it in the spring and though it wasn't spectacular, it was in much better shape than today and priced right. I say wait until the late fall or spring to try it for 50 bucks or less. Sorry for the negative review but I don't want people too disappointed when you give it a try.
Deal or no deal
TeeOff / Golfpass deal for $40 or don’t play.
Course is tight, fairways are either soggy wet or scorched, greens are either dry and hard or fuzzy, all very slow, lots of crabgrass and holes / massive divots on greens, fairways and fringe. Tee boxes are like thinning hair bald in most spots with long grass sporadically. I’ve played this place for 8 years mostly cause I get the deal and it’s empty. Today was busy and slower, the company was great but this course is in bad shape, they don’t have anything in excellent condition it’s all just poorly maintained.
Course in very bad shape and pace of play very slow
Course in very bad shape starting with the driving range that had no grass to speak of and just hitting off of sand and dirt. The greens on front nine were in bad shape with crabgrass and browned out areas on all. For longer putts it was un-playable. The fairways were also in poor shape . The course looked neglected and a major investment just to get it back to fair…
GN call this a feature course which is misleading. The $65 for 18 was a ripoff due to the conditions. Wish I had looked at the reviews.
Lastly the pace of play was very slow. I stopped at the 12 hole due to the log jam. Looks like there was no tee sheet and the staff just let you out at anytime. I told the staff about the issue and they suggest that join a group going out on 10 and play again… Not a good suggestion and that was all the staff would do to rectify the bad experience.
Ocean resort
Nice layout and challenging but the greens were terrible
Course conditions really bad and slow play.
Played today and the greens and tee boxes were in really bad shape and actually had crab grass all over the greens on the front nine. The pace of play was very slow and after the 11th hole just stopped. Informed the course staff but the answer was to start back at 10 again with a group the was going out. This was an online special at $65 and it was not a value with the poor conditions and very slow play. Don’t waste your hard earned money on the track..
Horrible Conditions and Pace of Play
For a course that has a lot of potential, the course needs new management and investment to make this course worth visiting. Tee times don't matter as there is no control over starting times. When you pay you just drive up to the 1st tee. They allow singles and two golfers to play alone which ruins the entire day because everyone gets backed up.
There were only 2 greens that were decent and the rest were atrocious. Not one tee box or fairway was decent. Weeds, high grass, weeds on greens, poor putting surfaces.
Close the course, bring an investment firm in and recondition the course. We will not recommend or ever play at this course again until they implement changes. Save your money folks, you will be disappointed.
Birthday round
Many of the teeing areas had either very little grass or none at all, just bare dirt.
All of the greens were very slow to putt. Many of the greens also had large weeds growing and or voids that created poor putting surfaces.
There are no tee times even if you book one!
Had a 9:20am tee time today but we moved it to 7:50am because I didn’t want to be out here for 5 hours due to it being a Sunday. We knew we were teamed up with a solo player but there was no starter to guide us. I asked the couple in front of us what their tee time was and they said, “it’s first come first serve and you can go out when you want.” I told them our tee time and asked again what theirs was because I wanted to ensure pace of play. The woman got a major attitude and said “well, you can go around us, we are here for the day”. (Sounds like she comes here a lot and this is a common thing). I said “so you don’t have a tee time, how do they enforce pace of play?” She got nasty with me again and I basically told her there was no need to be rude and we had a few words. I went into the office and the guy that worked at the desk looked at me like a deer in headlights when I asked him about the tee times and told me that he could not hear….. then he said that the solo guy goes, then we go. Turns out we were teamed up with the solo guy all along. He had no freaking clue!! So they were going to let a solo guy go, then a twosome, then another twosome on a Sunday morning. I’m sure this course is backed up all the time. Not to mention it’s also in horrible shape. We will never play here again!
Worst course in OC hands down
Paid 154$ for the two of us. We came from PA on vacation to OC and what a mistake it was to play this course. The tee boxes were torn up, grass was higher than my tee for my driver. The fairways were all burned up, and the greens needless to say was like putting on volcanic rock. There were more burn out marks and pitts in them it was impossible to putt. The price they charge for this pathetic course is straight highway robbery. If you are thinking about playing here don't. We left after 5 holes to go and play Ocean Pines about 2 miles away and for an extra 18$ per person the course was in incredible shape and a zillion times better to play. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!
Worst conditioned course I’ve ever seen by Pfarr
This course is an embarrassment. They ought to fire the entire ground staff and start over. There was crabgrass on the Greens crabgrass on the T boxes vast areas with the grass. It was terrible. I played with three threesomes in every person completely agrees.
BAD!
Honestly might’ve been the worst golf course I’ve ever played. The greens were trash, weeds all over them. Tee boxes are dead. Fairways were like rough. Just a very very bad maintained golf course. The Pace of play is awful to. A lot of bad golfers here and they hit take their time
Course could use some TLC in the form of weed killer. Crabgrass throughout some greens.
Terrible
I was going into this course with average expectations because i saw a preview video that was made a few years ago. and I guess they downgraded their staff because the conditions I was playing on was not the video I saw, greens non existent looked like they infield of a baseball field, fairways couldn't even tell them apart from the rough and thiers like 4 tons of sand in every bunker overall this course is trash DONT WASTE UR MONEY!!
Not bad but needs some love
I enjoyed the course. The fairways are fairly narrow so hit them straight. The staff is great. Friendly. Decent driving range area and putting green. About half the greens have bare spits so they need some love. If you are wild off the tee, you will lose balls. This is a good value for the money and is really a locals place
