Ocean City Golf Club - Newport Bay

Haven't played this course in a number of years since we just moved back into the area but since GolfPass had a deal posted, we jumped on the opportunity. Pace was a little slow as our twosome was playing behind another twosome and then a foursome. Course was in pretty good shape as they just aerated a couple of weeks ago. Greens were lightning fast. had the wind pick up once we got closer to the bay but that was to be expected.

Newport Bay is truly one of the best golf courses in the Mid Atlantic. Strategically set up to be affected by the wind on every hole on the back 9. Small, fast greens and forced decisions off of the tee. What this course lacks in length, it makes up in strategy.

There should be a golf ranger on the course to prevent people from joining up and playing 6 in a group.

Great challenge, bring some extra balls. Fun course, very scenic, great local feel, well kept. Pace of play was nice. Highly recommend and the price is fair

Played 4-5 years ago, massive upgrades to clubhouse and overall vibes. Great practice facilities. Two cart people and a half way house. Greens were in great shape, as was rest of course.

Overall a great experience. Staff, clubhouse amenities, drinks and service were all fantastic.

Course was a bit rough around the edges .. which would be expected for an early April round. Greens were 8/10, Fairways 7/10, Tee Boxes 7/10.

Price was a bit high ($62 on a Golf Now Hot Deal - Retail $80) vs quality of course however highly competitive price wise with other OC courses.

Would definitely come back and play again.

This course has MANY outings throughout the year even in November but at the end of our round the players coming off seaside course put alot of pressure of the staff of 2 felt a bit rushed and prority switched to the players coming off the in from the outing also it was late in the day after 3pm

When we arrived we were told that it was cart path only this should be noted before we pay for the course which is online very disappointed this is the second time at this course call before making reservations. There had been no rain for weeks

Several factors contributed to probably the worst golf day I can remember. First, no one told us that this course would be cart path only until we got to the first tee. Since I have some physical challenges that was a huge problem. This cart path only policy lead to such a slowdown that everyone was waiting 10-15 minutes between shots. No ranger to move things along. The excuse was that they had reseeded the fairways, but they also over-watered them to the extent that on many holes you or your ball would be standing in water. After 3 hours and 15 minutes we finally finished nine holes and gave up. Shame on Newport Bay.
