Ocean City Golf Club - Newport Bay
About
Ocean City Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf. The Seaside Course opened in 1959 and it was later joined by the Newport Bay Course. Both offer scenic views of the surrounding marshes and bay. Newport Bay is a formidable challenge but it will test your ability to think strategically, not your distance. Strategically placed bunkers come into play and the subtle contours of the landscape were utilized to their full extent. The course is a formidable test but it is player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. The golf course also touts some of the most scenic views on the Mid-Atlantic coast, although the surroundings are more Carolinian in feel. Both of Ocean City's courses offer something different. Seaside has a more traditional design but both offer plenty of variety.

Golfer Reviews
Excellent experience
The staff was excellent and the course is excellent. Paul the starter is fantastic! I played the Newport Bay. Really great shape and very beautiful! A couple things to look out for: It was a super hot day and I did not see the cart girl or any place to refill my water. Was dying at the end of the course. The last 4-5 holes are super close to the marsh. Very beautiful but at the end of the day on a hot still day the bugs are tough. Have deet with you.
Would 100% play again.
Great Course
Course was in great shape, even though recently aerified. Played in less than 4 hours. Very enjoyable round.
Slow round
Had two foursomes in front of us tee times booked to close. Not a course I would return to.
Us two should of been able to jump them took 4.45 hr for two experienced golfers to finish a round.
A course Worth Playing
Many holes were right on the marsh and bay. Beautiful to look at, challenging to play, One of the best in Ocean City area
great course just bring bug spray if you're playing early morning. lots of mosquitoes.
Toughest back 9 in OC!
If the wind is blowing do yourself a favor and play Seaside! The layout is great. Every hole you can imagine: Doglegs right and left, drivable par 4s, 3 shot par 5’s. If the wind is blowing don’t be shocked at a 8-10 stroke difference on your 9’s. Played on a Hot Deal so even after three doubles in a row on the back 9, I was smiling. If you are in OC it is a must play for under $50.
Great layout and views of the bay! Newport had some flooding in some areas which seems to result in lot's of mosquitos. Use insect repellent if you play it... Otherwise nice course and nice layout.
Weekend Getaway
Played the Newport Bay Course. It was in great shape tee to green. Worth the price for a weekend morning. Pace of play was slow 5.5hrs. Course was very busy.
great value
course was in very good condition. staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. beer girls were very friendly and made the rounds every 2-3 holes. prices were very reasonable (2 beers 2 gatorades and bag of ice $14). only complaint was amount of bugs/ mosquitoes, but wasn’t horrible.
Unfortunately just not good
As a pretty solid golfer, played a lot of golf. Great views. Cool track. But just not in great condition. Paying $175 is whack for this place. Go elsewhere in the area!
Pretty much perfect
Greens were amazing and true, staff was friendly and as always accommodating
Favorite in OC
Haven't played this course in a number of years since we just moved back into the area but since GolfPass had a deal posted, we jumped on the opportunity. Pace was a little slow as our twosome was playing behind another twosome and then a foursome. Course was in pretty good shape as they just aerated a couple of weeks ago. Greens were lightning fast. had the wind pick up once we got closer to the bay but that was to be expected.
Does not disappoint.
Newport Bay is truly one of the best golf courses in the Mid Atlantic. Strategically set up to be affected by the wind on every hole on the back 9. Small, fast greens and forced decisions off of the tee. What this course lacks in length, it makes up in strategy.
