The Quarry Golf Course

I play here often and as usual, the staff and facility were outstanding. It’s always a challenging course with a lot of risk and reward shots to be had. I highly recommend coming here and I of course, will be back.

Rough was very long and you will lose your balk if you spray it. Greens were verticut or something and were sort of shaggy. Not sure, but difficult to putt☹️

Greens had been aerated ( didn’t know).. assumed that’s why tee times were available..nevertheless, great layout. Play was way too slow!

It was hot but played the back nine first. Fairways in great shape, greens were aerated but rolled well. Finished round in 4:15. Definitely one of SA's best courses.

The course is in great shape. From tease to fairways to bunkers to the greens, all in top condition very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I’ll combine makes for a great golfing experience. I highly recommend coming to the quarry!!

Employees where very nice and friendly. Like being in a country club.

The Quarry is a well-maintained course, and I'll give credit where it's due — the conditions were good. But that's where the positives end.

We came out to celebrate Father's Day — myself, my father, my son, and my 16-year-old sister. Knowing the younger players in our group would need a little extra time, we proactively let multiple groups play through without anyone even asking. We were being courteous. We were doing the right thing.

None of that mattered to the marshal.

Despite being considerate throughout our round, we were warned twice about pace of play. We explained our situation both times and offered to continue letting groups play through. Then, after the 10th hole, the marshal parked behind our group and proceeded to watch us for three consecutive holes — saying nothing, just lurking. At that point, we were multiple holes ahead of the group behind us. There was no pace issue. There was no justification.

We spent good money to play this course, and we spent the entire back nine feeling like suspects instead of customers. My family felt unwelcome and watched — on Father's Day. That is not the experience anyone should walk away with after a round of golf.

I will not be returning, and I'd strongly caution families or casual players to reconsider before booking here.

Played here w the guys for our first golf trip and was amazed. Dog leg right first hole was fun. Amazing layout but back 9 was my favorite. Will definitely get back down to play it again.
