The Quarry Golf Course
About
The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Still great course
Let played here in 2005 I think? Was outstanding 21 years ago and it’s still outstanding now in 2026. Definitely a course to return to. Hope I di
In have to wait another 21 years to get back.
Country club like
Employees where very nice and friendly. Like being in a country club.
★☆☆☆☆ — Harassed on Father's Day. Never again.
The Quarry is a well-maintained course, and I'll give credit where it's due — the conditions were good. But that's where the positives end.
We came out to celebrate Father's Day — myself, my father, my son, and my 16-year-old sister. Knowing the younger players in our group would need a little extra time, we proactively let multiple groups play through without anyone even asking. We were being courteous. We were doing the right thing.
None of that mattered to the marshal.
Despite being considerate throughout our round, we were warned twice about pace of play. We explained our situation both times and offered to continue letting groups play through. Then, after the 10th hole, the marshal parked behind our group and proceeded to watch us for three consecutive holes — saying nothing, just lurking. At that point, we were multiple holes ahead of the group behind us. There was no pace issue. There was no justification.
We spent good money to play this course, and we spent the entire back nine feeling like suspects instead of customers. My family felt unwelcome and watched — on Father's Day. That is not the experience anyone should walk away with after a round of golf.
I will not be returning, and I'd strongly caution families or casual players to reconsider before booking here.
Good Golf
Played here w the guys for our first golf trip and was amazed. Dog leg right first hole was fun. Amazing layout but back 9 was my favorite. Will definitely get back down to play it again.
Scenic and challenginng
Fantastic course beautiful views and challenging play. Was stuck behind a tournament with no respect for pace of play but otherwise amazing. Would come back
Feels Like a Country Club
I will start off this review with Wow, the course surpassed my expectations. From Checking in to finishing the round.
Staff was extremely friendly and there was a bag drop with porters to attend to your bag. The proshop was well stocked and the staff was very helpful.
We arrived an hour before our tee time to take advantage of the practice facilities for a warm up. Our bags were placed on a cart with our names already on it, along with all of the other teetimes that afternoon, no hunting for a cart all stock and ready to go. The cart has GPS, BT speakers, ordering capability, and the coolers had ice and complimentary water in them.
The practice facility is included with the tee time, that includes the driving range (iron only) two putting greens, and a chipping green. There is a turn house there as well with food, drink, and outside seating and a TV to enjoy.
The course was in amazing shape, the tree boxes were great, flat and not too beat up. The fairways were green, and were grass. The greens were in excellent shape, challenging pin placements, an even roll accord the 18 holes, and they had a clear border surrounding them.
If you read up on the course, it shoes that it place short and appears very open, it is both but... Will punish you for a bad shot or for not planning your follow on shot. There are well placed defensible bunkers on the course, and I paid that price throughout the round. The rough is long and if you end up in it, you will be dropping, there is no finding it, the cut is wild and close to 2' tall. With all of this said it was more of a challange then I anticipated and that was a good thing. I want to play it again with a plan of attack, and try to stick to that. It is not an unfair layout, just one to make you play the game.
I played with my wife, who is not a long hitter, but is straight. She played the forward tees and had a good time with the course, the tees were placed to take some of the tee hazards out of play and left her with the approach and green complexes.
Sitting here trying to think of something that I would change about the experience, I'm hard pressed to think of it. From start to finish you are taken care of, the course was immaculate, the pace of place was excellent, never waited and was never pushed. The practice facility is worth your time pre-round, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
We will definitely be out again to play.
Quarry Review
Staff was friendly from start to finish, pace of play was a little slow. I expected more for the price as far as conditions, the greens weren’t in the best conditions but still a nice course to play. Some of the holes were challenging and had to be strategic with club selection.
Unique Course
Although 9 holes are built in a quarry the fairways are wide. Greens and fairways arr in great shape. Pace of play was very good with a Marshall on the course to keep it moving.
