About

The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

My group had such a good time. The course if very different from our home course, and in the best way possible. The greens were fast and true. The fairway was receptive to pitching and chipping, and you'll need it.

What a Gem of a course.

The Quarry is everything you would want in a golf course. The course is stunning. It a magnificent use of the topography. And it challenges you at every level. My absolute favorite while I’m visiting family in San Antonio!

Nice quarry course

Course was nice and unique since it was in a quarry. Nice levels to go up and good scenery. Course was a little shorter and the hikes towards the end get a little challenging with narrow fairways.

Rough was very long and you will lose your balk if you spray it. Greens were verticut or something and were sort of shaggy. Not sure, but difficult to putt☹️

Great Day at the Quarry

It was hot but played the back nine first. Fairways in great shape, greens were aerated but rolled well. Finished round in 4:15. Definitely one of SA's best courses.
