wonderful lay out, needs better maintenance
superb views, some difficult holes. (the 12th hole is usually voted as one of Essex most scenic). Hainault Lower is hilly and a lovely set up. holes do not criss-cross and so it's very peaceful. mostly wide fairways and so you can really let the driver rip.
however, it is a public course and should be better maintained. bunkers are very inconsistent and there is no ABC hole position set out and so, on some of the holes, you can't tell if the pin is front, back or middle
all-in-all it is terrific value for money but could be an even better track
