Hurtmore Golf Club

I always play this course , not very challenging so it is good for middle to high handicap players

the greens are good , people need to rake the bunkers after they finish and do not leave your broken tees behind

The people were soo nice in the pro shop and the club house and the course was lovely considering how the heat has affected the grass. I definitely recommend playing in the cooler parts of the year.

Always a favourite course to visit. Despite the conditions baking out the fairways as you would expect, the course still plays well. The greens are great and the overall presentation is spot on. Pace of play can be slow, it’s a busy course and not everyone seems to play ready golf, but far from the worst I’ve seen. Particular mention to the staff - always welcoming, helpful and friendly, from the check-in to the bar staff. At a time when some course charge silly money for very average experiences, Hurtmore offers ready good value for money. I’ll be back.

A first for me personally as at the age of 72 I shot a 1 over par 71!

This is my rant.. I'm all for people going to play and learn golf and is etiquette but there were too many idiots not call fore when a bad shot was hit. Walking onto your fairway when you're trying to tee off... driving the golf ball through you...

Nearly got struck by a golf ball on 4 different holes.. course seriously need a marshal...

Short course but well layed out and well looked after

It’s been a while since I last played here and the swapping of the front and back 9’s is a little odd, but otherwise this is always a good course. Pace of play on a sunny Friday afternoon was always going to be a little slow, but generally still possible to get round in 4 hours. Always very friendly staff and members and the course was in good shape even with the lack of rain. Greens run well, with some ‘challenging’ pin positions. All in all this is great value and well worth a visit.

The greens are kept up to scratch and get serviced by there greenskeepers every day

Hurtmore is a good golf course especially for medium to high handicap , it has one par 5 and hole 16 even though though it par 3 but challenging

This was not our first time playing here, but was the first time in a couple of years. The change of making holes 1 and 10 be interchanged since we last played meant that what became the 9th, formerly the picturesque 18th hole back to the clubhouse, denied us now that scenic finish. So not as good. We were paired with another couple of players, which was fine, but the course was extremely busy and the pace of play was snail-like. The fairways were hard and so ,for short iron play, there was little give underneath, and not a lot of grass to cushion the short shots. The greens were in very good condition, apart from being spiked, and were very fast. As a relatively speedy player, this round took 4 hours and was probably a half hour longer than usual due to the waiting for groups ahead. The short par 4s though made it less of a 'long day' than it might have been, as this is not a long course for an 18 hole round.

We found the course was fairly short but with nicely thought out holes and with really good greens. Despite its relatively short length it was still a nice challenge.

Our observations were that the bunkers were full of footprints as it seemed that players weren’t raking properly after their shots and that was a frustration. It wasn’t just one or two that we saw like that, it was pretty much all of them.

I would still recommend the course and I’m glad we played but I think that we may not come back as there are other courses in the area in better condition and similar value.

The staff we encountered were all very nice I must add.

I made a last minute booking for 18 holes which was only £22

The welcome at the pro shop was friendly and efficient

Used the practice nets and putting green which was in pristine condition

Another golfer joined me and we both enjoyed a pleasant round in glorious sunshine

The course is very open and fairways are quite close together in places but we didn’t have any issues with other golfers

The atmosphere on the course and in the clubhouse was relaxed and friendly
