Slightly disappointing

This was not our first time playing here, but was the first time in a couple of years. The change of making holes 1 and 10 be interchanged since we last played meant that what became the 9th, formerly the picturesque 18th hole back to the clubhouse, denied us now that scenic finish. So not as good. We were paired with another couple of players, which was fine, but the course was extremely busy and the pace of play was snail-like. The fairways were hard and so ,for short iron play, there was little give underneath, and not a lot of grass to cushion the short shots. The greens were in very good condition, apart from being spiked, and were very fast. As a relatively speedy player, this round took 4 hours and was probably a half hour longer than usual due to the waiting for groups ahead. The short par 4s though made it less of a 'long day' than it might have been, as this is not a long course for an 18 hole round.

5th May visit

We found the course was fairly short but with nicely thought out holes and with really good greens. Despite its relatively short length it was still a nice challenge.

Our observations were that the bunkers were full of footprints as it seemed that players weren’t raking properly after their shots and that was a frustration. It wasn’t just one or two that we saw like that, it was pretty much all of them.

I would still recommend the course and I’m glad we played but I think that we may not come back as there are other courses in the area in better condition and similar value.

The staff we encountered were all very nice I must add.

Great Course!

I made a last minute booking for 18 holes which was only £22

The welcome at the pro shop was friendly and efficient

Used the practice nets and putting green which was in pristine condition

Another golfer joined me and we both enjoyed a pleasant round in glorious sunshine

The course is very open and fairways are quite close together in places but we didn’t have any issues with other golfers

The atmosphere on the course and in the clubhouse was relaxed and friendly

The best around value for money

I recently had the pleasure of playing at Hurtmore Golf Club and came away thoroughly impressed with the whole experience.

First of all, the course was presented in excellent playing conditions from tee to green. The fairways were well maintained, the greens rolled true and consistently, and the bunkers were in very good shape. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the upkeep of the course, which made it a real pleasure to play.

The layout itself is both challenging and forgiving, which I think is one of Hurtmore’s biggest strengths. There are enough strategically placed hazards, doglegs and undulating greens to make you think carefully about your shots, but at the same time it doesn’t feel overly punishing if you’re slightly off line. It offers a fair test for golfers of all abilities and keeps every hole interesting.

Another standout was the pace of play. The spacing between groups was excellent and we were able to get round comfortably without feeling rushed or held up, which always makes for a much more enjoyable day on the course.

The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. From the pro shop to the clubhouse team, everyone was helpful, approachable and made us feel valued as guests. That level of hospitality really adds to the overall atmosphere of the club.

The practice facilities were also very good and allowed for a proper warm-up before heading out. Combined with the attractive surroundings and peaceful setting, Hurtmore offers a really relaxing but rewarding golfing experience.

Overall, Hurtmore Golf Club is a fantastic venue with a course that is enjoyable, fair and maintained to a very high standard. Friendly staff, smooth pace of play and a thoughtfully designed layout made it a memorable round, and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a quality day of golf

Good drainage

Hurtmore has kept up a good standard of course whilst others have fallen away because of the recent bad weather!

Looking forward to playing again when the course is in full bloom.

Well worth a visit.

I have played Hurtmore a number of times and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about booking a round there.

Firstly, the staff are incredibly helpful and polite from club shop to bar.

The course itself is constantly being improved to enhance player experience. The 16th hole was redesigned last year and golf cart pathways added to reduce course damage. There are water hazards on 6 holes and cleverly placed bunkers to create challenging shots. It's also a course that rarely gets waterlogged meaning that it's rarely closed during wet weather. Overall, a lovely course to play and well worth a visit

Excellent..

Not the longest course if you have a 270/280 drive. You will find yourself doing 30/40 yard chipping most of the day

The lay out of the course was great and the condition of the greens and fairway was excellent.. hats off to the ground keepers..

the first 8/9 holes were excellent and then you seemed to go through 4/5 holes that all seemed to be abit similar.

The last 3 holes changed it up abit and really made you get excited for the finish, which is a chip over the pond onto the green right next to the clubhouse.

Will definitely be going back!!!

Hurtmore Golf Course

It was a spare of the moment booking as i was working in the area and had the morning off. The staff were nice ans friendly and were happy to point me in the right direction. I had one of the first tee times of the day so i could get round in time for work. The group infront who were members kindly let me play through. The greens were good for the time of year and the fairways were also hard enough. It’s a relatively flat course compared to some i play in Bristol but non the less it still requires a bit of thought in order to score well. At the time i was playing quite well for me and scored 18 over.
