Golfer Reviews
Well laid out course with punishing rough.
Very very windy with the wind coming straight off the sea made it even more challenging but enjoyable
Wonderful value
Great value here if you can organise to be in the area.
The holes are varied with an overall links feel. The sea is in view on most holes, a bit like Porthcawl.
A really good test off the Whites at 6500 yards. The par 3s are very interesting and long. My 3rd visit here over the years, looking forward to the next time.
Quality links with spectacular views
Seascale never disappoints. Challenging certainly with some tricky holes to navigate but with westerly views out to sea and to the Isle of Man and looking east, straight down Wast-water to the imposing peaks of the Scafell range, it’s a never to be forgotten experience. The course itself is as always, in great condition, greens true but perhaps a little slower than normal due to recent rains encouraging grass growth. A definite one for the bucket list.
Brilliantly maintained and fantastic course structure
First time at sea scale and it won’t be the lasts
Courtesy call from the club to make us aware about course conditions prior to our arrival as greens were frozen was refreshing as usually you find out on arrival with other places.
Course was very well maintained especially for the time of year, greens ‘although frozen’ looked fantastic, really well structured course overall, exited to return in the summer
Excellent course
Played Seascale after weeks of rain excellent condition, greens superb,a real test of golf
True Links Temptation...
Course in fabulous condition considering the 300mm of rain the previous 48 hours around the Lakes region. Some of the friendliest of faces around, both on the course and in the clubhouse. Greens immaculate for November. Cost? £22.99, I know, unbelievable for a top notch true links course. Bit of a trek, however, very much worth the road trip
Seascale 18/06
Tee boxes: 7/10
Fairways: 7/10
Greens 10/10
Front 9: 1.5 hrs
Back 9: 2.5 hrs due to slow play.
Club house: Lovely, but food stopped at 4pm.
Weather: Sunny with slight breeze, 28c.
Seascale
Lovely course
Great value
You could double the price if. It was in Scotland
First time
So we made the decision to make the 2.5 hour drive to play here, and was not disappointed, course was in great condition and played like a true links blowing 25/30mph wind, dry and very difficult to get anything to stop on the greens. Driver off some tees is not the play, irons are definitely the play so try and stick to it otherwise you can find your self in some interesting positions.
Everyone on the course was super friendly.
Great day out would recommend
Seascale in the sun
Played the course solo while on holiday.
Very friendly staff greeted me.
Fortunately it was a very calm day, with warm sunshine. This made the holes relatively straightforward. Plenty of links challenges throughout, which I am not used to. Lots of fun!!
The favourable conditions enabled me to finish under my playing handicap, so very pleased.
The 19th hole food was excellent, washed down with a beer,. Watched other finishing 18th hole from seating outside the bar.
Very pleasurable experience.
Seascale
Course in excellent condition, Played on all 18 normal greens. Busy , but not to slow. Excellent value for money, especially as without realising it, saved money playing at 12. Clubhouse staff very friendly.
Warning
We booked to play three days prior we then drove for an hour only to find all the greens were temps the club never informed us. Just shows they want your business as a one off against repeat business. The website informed us of mats on fairways but omitted the main detail of so called winter greens.
This will be our last visit.
It’s never winter here
Was finding hard to convince myself it’s December next week with dry fairways and blinding sun topped off with the ball rolling out and fast greens I was telling the lads before we went exactly how it would play having played there last year with other courses locally flooded or closed I knew seascale is on a different level weather it has something to do with the sellafeild fence running alongside the course perimeter on a few holes it’s like the place has underground heating you won’t get a dryer place to play in winter we will definitely be back very soon
Seascale first time
Lovely course & great conditions for the time of year. Will be going again gaving travelled 100miles to visit on the recommendation of my partner who olayed there previously in a ladies open comp
Fantastic course
Played here a few times over the years with working locally, what a course bone dry and the greens were rapid, tough going with the wind conditions, cracking links course and a tough challenge, get yourself here if you love golf
Seascale
Fantastic golf course stacks up to anything in the county. Really great value for money. My favourite course in the immediate area
Amazing
Fantastic golf course with amazing views and some tricky holes.
