Keswick Golf Club

I'm visiting from the states and decided to play the golf course while staying in Keswick. I'm a nine handicap and have played a lot of courses. This course is one of the most beautiful courses I've played. Even though the greens were just aerated im still giving a 5 star. Every hole layout was a challenge. I would play this course everyday if I lived in Keswick.

Friendly welcome in clubhouse given directions to 1st tee. Course in decent enough condition, no bunkers on the course but plenty of other hazards to negotiate especially the rough. A few blind holes and small greens make it interesting. A couple of longish par 3s for card wrecking. Greens rolled ok. A few inclines to negotiate. Views are stunning as surrounded by hills. Enjoyed playing the course, certainly worth playing for the price.

Second time playing Keswick GC, this time the course was dry. Small club shop to book in given directions to first tee. Course in decent enough nick but should be at this time of year. Greens rolled pretty well. No bunkers on the course but plenty of other hazards to avoid and rough was very penal. A few blind holes and inclines to negotiate. Worth playing if in the area.

A beautiful looking course in it own right add the most spectacular border and you have a golf course thats hard to forget.

Nothing outrageously difficult and a nice test of golfing abilities that will suit all handicaps.

Decent clubhouse for refreshments.

Took a friend for his 1st game here … he was blown away with the scenery. Testing course for high handicappers like ourselves but re add lot enjoyable … checking grass off the fairways will be rich in lost bslls

Good course set in the lakes. Course itself was in great nick considering how dry its been. Careful not to run through the greens as not much room till deep rough. Ladies in the office were great and nothing was a bother to them. Bar lad was again great and was about to shut but noticed a few coming down the 18th so waited to serve a well earned pint. Overall a very welcoming course with some tricky holes.

Brilliant course and greens were excellent. Just as good as the lazt time i played it. Staff friendly and helpfull followed by a superb meal.

Had a warm sunny June day. Visibility of local mountains was great and staff were very friendly and kind offering us free trolley use. The course is very interesting with some challenging par 3s in particular. Most of the fairways were quite generous, but if you went off there was knee deep thick grass where you were lucky to find your ball. If you had an off day you could run out,which I did!

Wet, freezing, windy but loved it.

Played Keswick today on a calm bright day. Perfect conditions for golf. I live quite near, so often drive past Blencathra but I was still impressed at how stunning the views were. The second hole is an amazing tee shot, right towards the mountain and the views all around the course are amazing.

The course was a bit soggy in places and fairways could be much better. Greens were decent to be fair.

Was on holiday in Keswick so popped here for a round of golf. Was a quiet week day and the clubhouse was deserted which made checking in difficult but apparently someone had called in sick. Looked like very adequate facilities would have been available.

The course was quite hilly with lots of blind drives and elevated greens. The fairways were quite soft whilst the greens were quite quick… sadly a number were being sanded just before I got to them!!

A really nice variation of holes - up/downhill, left/right bending, water/trees but few bunkers. A good challenge and I’d play it again very happily.

Had a great day at KGC with my sons who are just getting into golf. I haven't played here in 32 years so it was great to go back with my boys. You will be hard pushed to find a more scenic course and we were spoilt with blue skys and mountains dusted with snow. The course is a little damp in places but overall the course is in good nic for this time of year. There was an overnight frost and I was worried the course may not be open but on checking the course web page was pleasantly surprised to see the course was open but temporary greens were in effect. The best news was to come however, around 2 hours before setting off to Keswick I received a call from KGC asking if we could delay the tea time by 30 minutes to allow the greens to thaw out, how is this for first rate customer service. Many thanks KGC we can't wait to visit again soon. Alex

We drove from York to Keswick to find the course closed, they said you should have informed me and given me a refund!

Had a great round - lovely course and facilities- friendly staff - very good weather in January - all good

First time playing and just after very heavy rain. The course stood up well and provided a very enjoyable challenge. Plenty of variety despite there being no bunkers. A really good winter pick. Good value and very accessible from Keswick. We will certainly be visiting again .
