Mesa Linda at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club

Overall nice round. Pace of play needs improvement, didn’t see the Marshall out there.

Course isn't too bad. Recently punched greens are still super bumpy and slow. Pace of play is the MAJOR ISSUE. 1st par 3, including the group that just teed off, were 4, yes 4 groups on the tee waiting. And this was on a MON MORNING. Just shy of a 6 hour round. Wind factors a lot on most of the holes. Played here 10 years ago, probably wont come back for another 10.

Lets start by saying that the course and the starter gentlemen are great, no complaints but the problem is that no matter what day or time you play you are going to wait on every shot. Our tee time was at 8:15am and we tee off at 8:45am, they over sell tee times. Also the club house crew could be more friendly, they treat you as you were visiting a government facility, take it or leave it attitude.

Their pro shop staffs should be replaced.

They think they own the place. I have been to almost every course in LA,OC,SD but never seen pro shop staffs so disrespectful as if they don’t want to work there but someone tortured them to work…

Great course, easy play, nice fairways , great match ups if playing alone .

Always enjoy the course and the challenge of the greens on Mesa Linda. Makes up for the shortness with undulations on the greens.

Tee boxes and greens were A+ as usual. However, pace of play horrible, disgusting, miserable- even by SoCal standards on weekend. Tee time 1106, Tee off 1145, bag off cart after 18- 550pm. Waited every shot, every hole. 2 five-sums in front of us, 2 fice-sums behind us, we were a 4-sum. Who lets out a 5 sum on the weeekend- ridiculous. Ran out of alcohol by 6th hole, speaker was dying, I had 2 birthdays. Tee times should be stacked a few more minutes apart, no five sums- get non si gle digit handicappers off blues/tips. Sending out a marshall to the par 3 7th to have the group behind hit after reaching the green, doesnt speed up play, now we all wait on 8tb Tee box. This starts with the pro shop and greed to get more players out- in the process makes the experience less than enjoyable.

Pace of play at this course is absolutely ridiculous. Started over 20 minutes after my tee time and the round took over five hours to finish only 16 hole. Wasn't able to finish my round because it too long. Didn't help that tees time are 9 minutes apart and they book fivesomes for every group. It's really a shame that it's that poorly managed because the actual course isn't bad.

Tee off before 6:30am or you’re shafted. The Marshall is a grumpy grumpy man. Otherwise it’s great value just get there early and avoid the the red jacket fella on hole 1. You won’t see a Marshall after that point.
