Awesome Course & Awesome Staff!
One of my favorite courses to play in the Bay Area! Great layout and amazing views! The staff manages tee times and pace of play very well, which makes the course much more enjoyable. B
Unprofessional staff and old facility
I recently played at Lincoln Park Golf Course and it was a disappointing experience from start to finish.
The staff were noticeably unfriendly and came across as rude, which set a negative tone right away. Simple questions were met with short, dismissive responses, and there was little effort to make guests feel welcome.
On top of that, the fees are far too high for what you get. The course and facilities feel outdated and poorly maintained, yet the pricing suggests a much higher-quality experience. It’s hard to justify paying premium rates for a facility that clearly hasn’t kept up with modern standards.
Overall, between the poor customer service and the overpriced, aging facilities, I wouldn’t recommend this course. There are far better options in the area that offer a more enjoyable and professional experience for the same or even lower cost.
Great views, very hilly course, strict rules
Great views, but not much else.
The Golden Gate Bridge panorama is truly spectacular, but that’s where the positives end. The course is extremely hilly with a strict cart‑path‑only rule, so be prepared for a lot of walking. The green fees are steep, and the policies feel overly rigid: no outside food or beverages allowed, yet there’s no on‑course food options (you never pass the restaurant). The older staff member we encountered was stern and unwelcoming, though a younger staff member later in the day was friendly. To top it off, you can’t even drive the cart to the parking lot.
Worth trying once for the views, but otherwise, I’d skip it.
A throwback to yesteryear
Lincoln is a fun course with beautiful views of the San Francisco skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge. The view from 17 over the bay and facing the Golden Gate Bridge is phenomenal on a clear day. The greens aren’t perfect and the lies aren’t going to be flat, but it’s a good challenge to navigate this course. Well worth what we paid. A very memorable course for anyone that plays it.
Great course, best par 3 in america, and even better with 75 degree weather
I've played this course multiple times but this time was the best ever. The fairways were spot on, greens were the best ive ever seen them and fast, and same with the bunkers.
The only comment I have is the cart path only rule. I understand that when conditions are not optimal but with the way the fairways were, there is no reason for this rule. At least 90 degree rule, especially give how expensive the golf cart rentals are.
Too Expensive
I use to play this course all the time - I am not a resident but the cost for this muni course was outrageous considering the condition. It was cart path only - I paid $60 for the round and $50 for the cart which I could not walk it because of knee injuries. I am also a veteran which the course had no discount - I still feel like I was robbed. Out of towners beware!
All no goooooood
1 The staff is so friendly
2 The price of Golf now is $50 and you get $70 if you go there. Because I don't live in San Francisco
3 The cart fee is 50 dollars, but it can't even get into the green
I've never seen anyone who's too unfriendly to an employee
Views make the course
Great views make this course worth playing. The fairways are decent and it’s pretty easy to find your ball after a bad shot. The greens are in rough shape but worth the inconvenience for the price & views. Prepare for some exercise. Cart path only so we used push carts. A lot of uphill & downhill between holes and each hole is not clearly marked. We teed off on 12th hole instead of 2nd hole because they’re right next to each other and not clearly marked.
Great views crappy course
This course is just for the views. More problems than pros. Fairways and rough are kept in the same shape. Greens are 60% grass 40% mud patches no putt will roll just bump along. Its super hilly unless you want to hike and golf at the same time you need a cart but theyre first come first serve and pricey for being cart path only on every hole. If it werent for being in sf and having views of twin peaks/golden gate this course would be far more poorly rated.
Excellent play
Beautiful view and people. I am a foreigner and registered only one player. But three balls in front of me invited me to join them. Have a lot of fun
Seeking a refund or at least a coupon to play course when it is actually playable
The course were were told had a few aerated greens but it wasn’t the greens, it was was abnormal tee boxes and not aerated greens but “off green” greens that was just a flag pole in the ruff. After 7 of nine holes being this way we returned out cart and went home l. Beautiful day but not an honest description of what it was like out there before we headed out.
Please notify me on how to recover the funds or a coupon for two rounds of 18/9 holes
Thank you,
George
Lincoln Park
I didn't realize that they began aerating the greens on the day I played. Unfortunate for me.
awful greens - bad course maintenance
I've played Lincoln several times this past 2-3 years. It could be a 5 star course, but....
It sets ups better in the winter to be honest despite it being a bit wet and getting little roll-out on drives. Why they haven't done something with the greens on hole 1, 2 and 12 to ensure balls don't roll back 6+ feet on uphill puts or off the green completely - due to "ridiculous slopes and no grass to hold a ball is anyones guess - this isn't the US open, it's a public muni. The greens are also infested with some kind of fungus that has gotten particularly bad over this year or so - and are now full of holes that cause your ball to bounce, pop up, and deviate massively in all directions. You can't hold a ball on several of the greens and what makes it crazy is that they let the fairways right in front of the greens grow to a height that looks/plays like rough, so any shot coming in on a 6 iron or lower trajectory absolutely plugs immediately. There greenskeepers/maintenance crew need to be given some education as to how a reasonable municipal golf course should be set up. Or management should address the glaring "stupidity" of how the course is managed. There are at least 5 "crazy golf" holes that almost every player I've played with or seen out here curse and shake their heads in frustration. This game is hard enough - please listen to your members and the public - and address the issues that keep this course from becoming a really great little municipal course. We don't want it made easier, we want it to play hard but fair.
